Great book. Characters were well developed and even though the subject matter has been covered many times, it was easy to get emeresed into the lives of these women.

Saddle up kids, because Larissa Ione is going to take you for a helluva ride in this first installment of her new series. I’m beginning to think she’s an immortal herself. She describes this world so well that I wonder if she‘s been to this realm. What are you Larissa besides a kick-ass author? Are you the queen of the demon world? Are these immortals your loyal subjects? I know I am, because I worship you and your books. So here we go again, and although you do not need to read the Demonica series to enjoy this one, I would highly recommend it. There are characters that crossover into this book, the hotties from UGH, and reading it would help to transition into this series. Demonica is a fabulous series…so just read it!! The characters introduced in this book, three horsemen and a horsewomen, are larger than life. There is nothing quite as hot as a hunk on a horse, or better yet a stud on a stallion. Although one of the horsemen is a female so she would be a studette. Larissa has such swoon worthy H’s. We meet all of them, but the focus is on Ares, the leather armor wearing, stallion riding, humanity saving, COMPLETELY hairless hunk of a immortal. He is brought to his knees, oh yeah…he was on his knees…a lot, by Cara, a hellhound, horse, and whatever else healer/whisperer. She’s a great match for him and brings out a side of him that he didn’t know existed. She makes him protective and nurturing. He has his own special way of nurturing…HOT… and who the heck can resist that?? Also making his earth shaking debut is the villain, Pestilence, the evil side of Reseph, Ares brother. Pestilence appeals to me, what can I say, sick…right? He’s sexy in a disgusting, twisted way that I …ya know…would let him have his way with me, even if it meant spending an eternity in hell. Holy crap I’m really losing it. Then we have Thanatos, another brother, who’s very on edge. You think it’s because he’s a 5000 year old VIRGIN??? Wow his book is going to be explosive!! Limos is their sister, very Lara Croft, and her betrothed, let’s just say not her choice and wouldn’t be mine either. In a nutshell, Larissa Ione continues to build on this other world that she has created. There is never any break in the action and the book just flows from one page to the next. One minute the horsemen are in sword wielding mid-evil mode, saving mankind. Then they’re partying on the beach in flip-flops. Cracks me up!!! If the teaser chapter at the end of the book is an indication of what’s to come, well hold on to your hats, because we are in for a wild ride.

The first book in this series started off with some amazing cliches. Pipe smoking wizard, mountains too snow covered so must go through dwarven mines, a young boy with powers he doesn't understand as a main character. But overall it wasn't bad. The bad guys were just starting to get interesting when it ended and the magic armor and sword seemed like they were heading somewhere very cool.

This is a quick read, ultimately a book of hope. I am left with feelings of sadness for what little Nujood endured, but in telling her story, she has already helped others and will likely continue to do so. Mabrouk!
