This was a cute story that I haven't decided was intended more for children or young adults. The stories were indeed very short and the book was a very quick read, but was enjoyable. As with many short stories, I think they stories would have been better with a bit more information. I enjoy reading short stories, but they are difficult to master. This book was about a series of stories that ranged from realistic to fantastic for a small group of goblins. Three Goblins were charged with the task of determining what the stories were about, what they meant, and who had written them. Many of the stories had the goblins scratching their heads, most of the stories, in fact. The topic of "man" truly perplexed them, they read several times about this creature and was unsure how to take it. Between man and talking horses and bears, the poor goblins were beside themselves trying to figure out this obvious fictional writing. I would suggest this as a light read or to any child in the 4th grade age range who is interested in fantasy. All of the stories are clean and show examples of good morals and teachings.

I think this author could have had some creative fun with this topic - instead it is too serious - maybe she takes herself and life too seriously. It is so obviously her own struggle with religion and the Garden of Eden as well as a lesson in the Sumerian Culture and its daily life style. I guess I think the book was self serving.

This book is solid, it is great because it is SO bang on in terms of creating effective communication between close interactions at work or in relationships. Allows readers (me!) to become more aware of themselves, their feelings and assumptions when interacting with others, and how by being aware of yourself you can understand the 'stories' you create about situations/people around you. Very powerful and makes the call that you are responsible for how you feel, for how others make you feel, and for how you make others feel. The best part is, if you get a buddy (learning partner) you can practice having 'learning conversations' to 'get clear' about assumptions or circumstances. It is incredible how clarity and honesty allows you and others to get on the same page and have the same stories so that you can work more effectively together and with greater enjoyment and respect for yourself and the people you work with.
