I read this book while traveling on the western coast of Costa Rica working on organic farms. I'm not sure if it was the point I was at in my life or just the book, but it had a profound impact on me. Its a little "out there" but it had some great lessons.

The best book about coping with divorce that there is! I read this for the first time when I was 20 years old and getting a divorce. It was so insightful and comforting. I reccomend it to anyone!

I reread this for one of my local clubs and was happy to revisit with Anne on this gorgeous island. Every time that I have read it I always vow to make Prince Edward Island one of my upcoming travel destinations, but for some reason I have never followed through. This book really does make you want to visit the island as the island and its scenery become such an integral part of the book. Anne as always is so much fun - impetuous, determined, opinionated but so filled with imagination and a thirst for knowledge and adventure. This book continues to be one of my overall favorite YA books, a must read for young girls and a delightful read and/or reread for all ages. I cannot imagine anyone who would not immediately fall for the irresistible Anne, spelled with an "e". And both Matthew and Marilla have to join Anne on my overall favorite list of characters.

This one was a hard one to read, but glad I did. Each chapter written in the voice of different characters of the family. The one and only chapter written in the voice of the mother who is the one who is dying, still haunts parts of my brain. I may go back and read that chapter again....

I had to read these for my Lit class but I enjoyed them very much. They are not complete novels, they are parts of speeches and books by famous authors. But none the less, I learned a lot from these books. I've kept them and gone back to them several times.

I love this series! It's fun; good plots, wonderful characters - what's not to love about a family who is steeped in Shakespeare and all of whose names come from the plays?! - and romance! The time period and main characters are similar to Elizabeth Peters' Amelia Peabody mysteries: headstrong, unconventional female character that drives the equally headstrong and unconventional male character to distraction in more ways than one. But the focus of the stories are different, and since the E.P. Peabody series is one of my all time favorites, I love this one too!
