I really ejoyed this book and learned so much from it. I find the way A.W. Pink writes a little difficult at times, but that will not discourage me from reading his other works.

So much better than book one. This is for those of you who can suspend belief for a big time menage. 5 cowboys one little ol cowgirl in trouble. The good: Lynlee has known this family since they were kids. She has always loved them. So to a degree her desire for all of them makes sense. I liked how the parents and even the guys themeselves put up a fuss over the situation. They don't want this for her. It isn't conventional and the opportunity for pain is acknowledged. That was good. I even wish there was more of that part. Lynlee's life is once again in danger. This time was way less hokey. Basically she is on her honeymoon with Blaine but wants to call/text Carlisle and Rhett. She is torn up that she can't give her whole self to Blaine, the man she has loved her whole life, on their honeymoon. She hates that she can't resist talking to Rhett and Carlisle for even one night. So she goes for a walk on the beach and runs into a killer. The McCain men circle to protect her. The areas that could have been better. The first 22% of the story is an argument in one room between Rhett, Carlisle, Lantry and Royce. There are a few pages of Lynlee/Blaine. But mostly they spend that long arguing over the sharing of Lynlee. Blaine and Lantry think back to memories of Lynlee that led to their falling in love with her. No one else does this. Honestly, based on what is shown, the others are in lust with her body and sexuality, not in love with her. BUT showing how 5 cowboys have come to be in LOVE not lust over the YEARS is not easy in a novella. Still. If you write 5 in, you should make it happen. Don't just tell me they are in love. SHOW ME. And sex ISN'T showing me. It seems like all Carlisle and Rhett do is sleep with her. I get that they are attracted. But I still after two books don't know their heart. What are the things they love about her. What happened to lead up to it? A man can be protective over a fuck buddy. Wanting to keep her safe doesn't equate love for me either. Overall, I did enjoy this book. It got so much better as the killer's story amped up and daddy McCain stepped into the picture to voice his opposition.

I wouldn't suggest reading it if you're in need of something uplifiting... I couldn't shake a feeling of lingering sadness and despair for days after finishing it

A great book that also teaches about similes and metaphors.

I heard Alec Baldwin read "Wife-Wooing" from this ollection on NPR's "Selected Shorts" and was moved to pick it up. A huge colelction, adn I picked through it. I would love to devote more time to it, because his short stories are wonderful.

Amazing. Unbelievable. After reading the book I'm not sure I could ever watch the movie.
This story could have taken a half-a-dozen different plot lines and the one chosen by the author came as a bit of a surprise to me. The resolution of the plot wasn't quite how I had expected, or perhaps wanted, yet I can see how it flowed naturally from the beginning storyline. It's all so interesting to see how all these characters acted in their situations. I look forward to our book club discussion at the end of the month - I'm sure there will be plenty to talk about.

I just started this, but I feel like this belongs in the Uglies/Pretties trilogy thus far (not a bad thing). The language is worse in this book though. Dystopic plots abounding... UPDATE: Okay, by "languauge" above, I meant profanity. SO, I really liked this book. You all know that I adore a dystopia. It does something for the cynic in me, I guess. This book was incredibly well-written. It reads as a first-person narrative by a teenager in an era of blatant ignorance, apathy, hedonism, and stupidity. It is painful to read. All the DUMB is just right there in the text. The character of Violet is an excellent contrast of someone with an innate sense of morality, economy, and a foundational education. Heads up, this is NOT a feel good book with a tidy or happy ending.
