Although the topic of foot-binding is interesting to me, the author's writing style was just so-so and couldn't keep my attention. I tried several times, but didn't finish.

** spoiler alert ** I read most of this book in 5 hours. It was a short easy good read. The topics were great, but Charlie confused me. What were the hospital visits for ? Does he have a social disorder of some kind ? He was super awkward and didnt really know how to be social and was super smart. Just from my pysch classes and experience in life and reading other books he seemed different. In a great adorable awkward way (:

This is an amazing true account of a mother daugher relationship and the aftermath of sexual abuse.

** spoiler alert ** It's a great story and I loved reading it, but it skipped around a lot. I felt as if I had found her diary pages, pictures, and notes in a jumbled stack and started reading. This being the first Kindle book I've read and I haven't seen an actual copy to compare, might be part of my problem... I thought that the fact content that was added would have been a better footnote, to help the reader stay focused. There were several spots that mentioned that pictures that she had of a person were still in existence to this day, but there were no pictures near those pages, only the ones at the end. I like that this was a memoir about the Holocaust and not from a Jewish perspective... because it was interesting to see the differences in the way the Nazi's treated the prisoners. I had previously thought that they hated everyone equally. I think the idea of this book was excellent and would say that this should be the book teachers make the students read, instead of the Diary of Anne Frank when teaching about the Holocaust.

While the graphic design can occasionally be distracting, the content of this book on burnout for followers of Jesus (esp. clergy) is excellent. Anne Jackson is painfully honest about her own struggles with bitterness & burnout, which gives what she has to say credibility. I found myself wishing that the interviews with folks like Greg Kinnaman and Craig Groeschel could have gone on longer... thankfully, Wayne Cordeiro has written his own book on burnout, Leading on Empty. I'm personally finding Mad Church Disease to be a great help in setting course adjustments to avoid the Great Land of Suck that is ministerial burnout. (Been there, done that, bought the T-shirt.)

I ONLY VAGUELY REMEMBER READING THIS. FROM WHAT I REMEMBER IT WAS OKAY. I WAS TALKING ABOUT IT WITH A FRIEND ONCE AND HE SAID SOMETHING ALONG THE LINES OF "ELIZIBETH WURTZEL NEEDS TO JUST SHUT UP AND TAKE HER LEXAPRO". I THINK THE TERM "SELF-INVOLVED WHORE" MAY HAVE BEEN THROWN AROUND A FEW TIMES AS WELL. I WOULDN'T MIND SEEING THE MOVIE.

Two bodies are discovered in a church vestry - both have had their throats cut. Because one is a baronet and a former MP, Dalgleish and his new formed "sensitive cases" squad is brought in to investigate, including Detectives Massingill and Mishkin (I believe this is Kate Mishkin's first appearance). After visiting Paul Berowne's family, co-workers, friends and servants, Dalgleish is convinced that the murderer is connected to the family, but he has no physical evidence. This was a gritty and intense novel. Some chapters were so engrossing I couldn't stop listening or reading (I both listened and read this book). Highly recommended - and P.D. James' series of Dalgleish novels only gets better with the next book "Devices and Desires".

The last book I read about Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh was written by someone who grew up with his mother following the guru. Milne was actually one of Bhagwan's inner circle for quite some time. The story is as intriguing as ever, with pictures of some of the practices that you just do not see everywhere.
