I would have given this book more stars if not for the fact that the author recommends a couple of plants that have taken over and ruined my garden. It has been a LOT of work trying to remove them and they are still not gone. Terrible advice under any circumstance.

- Why I decided to read this book? I read this bbok first in intermediete school and have read it several times since. I have enjoyed every time I have devoured this depressing tale of control and rebellion and every time I have read it I have picked up something new about the story or characters. 1984 really is a testament to George Orwell's amazing writing skill. - Bingo Board? 1984 is a dystopian science fiction story set in what is a parallel version of 1984. As such it fills in the science fiction book slot quite nicely. - What I enjoyed about this book and why? Did I enjoy this book? Yes, very much so. It presents such a realistic and depressing view of a simple mans world and delivers some memorable characters and moments. The enitre book is set in a dystopian world were a extreme goverment faction rules over every aspect of peoples lives, were even a negative thought against them would end with you being pulled from your bed in the dead of night by the malicious thought police. I found this setting very engaging and it made me look at our own society today and think about what would have happened to change it into what is portrayed in the book. The end though is what got to me most with some serious events that ultimatly lead to one of the biggest change in a main character I have ever seen. - What I did not enjoy about the book and why? The book was first published in 1945 and as such the language can sometimes make it diffucult to understand what is going on, or what the characters are trying to portray. I also felt that the entire book set a rather depressing tone which is good for atmosphere but bad for the readers state of mind. - Who would I reccomend this book to? I would reccomend this book to fans of science fiction and classic litreture it is an amazing and deep book that I think that any serious reader should read atleast once. Favourite Quote- WAR IS PEACE. FREEDOM IS SLAVERY. IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH

OH MY GOSH!This is one of the best books I have EVER read. This amazing book that I read was Skeleton Creek book #1 by Patrick Carman This book is about these two kids trying to find out what happened and the dredge how it happened in the dredge and why it happened. These kids Ryan and Sarah are trying to find out. but mostly during the book Sarah is going to the dredge because Ryan broke his leg at the dredge, so Sarah is looking while Ryan is researching. But the weir part is that all of the adults know about it but they won't tell them. The main characters are Sarah shes a out going and dangerous person that doesn't care what people say. Ryan is cautious but brave when he needs to. Uncle Henry is a very fun guy that is secretive. the park ranger is protective about the dredge and doesn't want any one in there, and he is secretive like all of the adults. Old Joe Bush, even though he is dead he is protective over the dredge. The mom, she is cautious to make sure Ryan is save and wants Ryan to stay away from Sarah There are book that are similar to this book but not a book even close to this book except the other books that go to this series but if i had to pick a book I would say The Homework machine because its about a book where people are hiding something from other people and they don't want to know what happened/happening. The genre of this book is definitely a mystery because Sarah and Ryan are trying to find out what happened at this dredge that know one will talk about, so with research and going to the dredge they try to find out what happened at that haunted dredge. They go to libraries, they go to the dredge, they search it up on the internet, and Ryan goes through his dads stuff when hes gone once. This book is the first book out of a four book series. The series is: Skeleton Creek, Ryan's Journal. The other books in this series are: Ghost in the machine, The Crossbones, and The Raven This book is a very cool and interesting book with mystery, wonder,scary things, and don't forget about : The videos that you have to watch online when it tells you to. I really enjoyed this book, and I would recommend this book to people that like watching videos, mystery, being scared, and reading a good book. Skeleton Creek Ryan's Journal book one by Patrick Carman is the book to read!

I'm certainly late jumping on this train and there is probably nothing I can add to the millions of reviews already except my own humble opinion for my own records. The Hunger Games is a solid read, highly enjoyable, and I had no complaints at all. It had been a long time since I found a book that made me turn off the TV in the evening and stay up far too late into the night turning pages. I'm also a sucker for a strong lead female character. Katniss had her strengths but I appreciated that she wasn't always too clever. In the end though, while I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good quick read, I didn't come away thinking this book was a new personal favorite. It was missing that certain "spark" of emotional attachment. Perhaps by the time I've read the entire series, I will feel differently.
