I wasn't too sure what to think of this book when I picked it, but I like the author's other series that I wanted to give this one a try. It ended up being better than I expected. There were aspects of the book that were standard, a monarchy that is overbearing, a group of rebels that want more, and a strict class system. These apsects made the book familiar when reading, but it is the characters that will keep you reading. A couple of them surprised me and weren't what I first thought they were, but then as I thought about them it made perfect sense. For me a large part of the appeal of the book was Charlie. She had so much to hide and so much to protect. The relationship with her sister showed both parts. I was ready for and dreading a love triangle, but am happy to say that it didn't go that way. With the ending I wonder where things will go in this series. I almost expected the fight for right to go on longer.

Holy OMG THIS BOOK IS AWESOME!!!! It picks right up where The Name of the Wind leaves off, and is just as well written, complex, and engrossing as the first book. Amazing!!!!!!!! I can't wait for the third book!!!!!!!

I really enjoyed the side characters more than anything. Zook, Mooner, Gary the stalker, Grandma Lula aka Scorch, Lula and Tank were all pretty damn hilarious and really made the story.

The endlessly imaginative Copper and the dog Fred, who is sort of a Debbie Downer, travel strange lands and encounter wonderful characters in this collection of one page comics drawn by Kazu Kibuishi. The colorful dynamic art always has a thrilling, fantastic flair to it, just the right setting for Fred to level his pessimistic, nervous assessments on whatever adventure he and Copper are having. Many of the installments clearly resemble life situations - once while crossing a field of towering mushrooms, Fred and Copper scale a far hill to discover...another field of towering mushrooms. "It never ends, does it?" groans Fred. "Nope." Copper replies. Scenes often end abruptly, but usually not unsatisfactorily.

My love for fantasy keeps going strong. I know that when I am tired my hand takes down for shelves more easier reading, but when going gets tough, there's nothing more soul solidifying, than a good old-school fantasy. The only trouble I had with this book, were the names. After all, all people, had like 5 of them for different occasions, moods and status symbols. And they were quite similar to each other as well. So I had to keep reading quite carefully who carried what name exactly, who was actually in the scene and what role their name represented at the moment. I loved the subtle romance and friendships, and how intrigues changed destinies and lives. And I loved how no-one whined about things, but just mastered their skills and went at it with heart. And that when someone was simply put bad guy, then you'd get the back-story of why it was so and where that flaw and weakness came from and grew.

this book is about a kid and his butt unexpectaly comes "to life" his butt is a fighter and zach also meets the kisser the smacker and more. i would connect this book to zombie butts by the same author and it is just the sequel to the day my butt went psycho. i would give this book 2 stars because at first it's a good story but later on it begins to get boring and some parts are entertaining.

I think I would have to agree with Kim. The book was good, but not stellar. I, too, found it difficult to connect with the characters. I had so many questions - what is the story with Grace and Connie? What really happened to Granna? I also liked how they flashbacked to the original witches from Salem. I wish that were developed a little more. I wanted to know a lot more about Deliverance.
