Run is an excellent book. I couldn't put it down. Dee and Jack are brought together by their will to survive as they attempt to escape the mass killings going on across the country to seek refuge in Canada. Blake's book is a very fast-paced read that I couldn't put down. The suspense keep me on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next, and how bloody the outcome would be, but most of all, this is a story of how a family comes together as they face their most extreme adversity.

Really good for a YA book. Since I steer clear of them, that's saying a lot. I loved how you learned things about this world but she didn't dump a ton of info on you at once. It was very smooth. She made you feel likey you were there with Katniss every step of the way.

At last, a balanced, informative and very intelligent account of the history of the GDR, neither glossing over its sins nor overstressing them. It is fascinating to read of the way the country's citizens reacted and interacted with their regime, often supporting some aspects of it while pushing hard for other less acceptable things to change. The first history that is more than just a black and white account of theose 40 years. My one complaint? Add a who's who list to the book. It's irritating to have to go and check Google to find out more about the roles and functions of some of the people mentioned

3.5 stars I had high expectations for this book since the summary intrigued me so much, sadly in my opinion it kind of fell flat. The idea of this school called "The Game" where they play academic based virtual reality games to earn points to move through higher levels earning you popularity ratings with peers and sponsor companies is really interesting. And doesn't seem that far fetched either. Children have fun learning and company's use them to test products and as walking advertisements. One day a dummy with fake blood and all is thrown over the railing from the top floor of the school. A note pinned to it's shirt reading "Choose your suicide." Pretty neat right? You'd think there would be a cool story behind a stunt like that. WRONG. We learn the stunt was pulled off by a mysterious group of ex-popular kids that call themselves "The Unidentified". I never really understood why they staged a mock suicide or their need to feel unidentified with any of The Game's cliques or sponsor. I really liked the characters and the setting of "The Game" but the story line that pulled me in and made me want to read the book was a bit disappointing. I feel as though the whole book was building up to some climax that just never came. Over all great idea just not so great execution. Yet still enjoyable.
