The Icebound Land is the third book in the series The Rangers Apprentice. This book is about how Halt and Horace start looking for Will and Evanlyn. They were taken away in a ship from their homeland after a war. Will those 2 kids be able to escape? Will Horace and Halt find them before its to late? I realy liked this book and I hope you read it, you wont regret it. Its got everything you are looking for. This is one of my best series I have ever read and I hope it becomes one of your best series to. What I learned from this book is that you always face problems in life, and when a person that you love is taken away you will do anything to find him. I learned too that friends always help you in whatever condition you are .

Cute book, but the story gets a little lost. It is ultimately not a complete story but more of a day in the path towards self discovery. Fun, easy reading antics included, but very little explanation of the magic or magical world. I think the author needed to work out a little more clearly whether the witchcraft was really a part of her story and integrate it more.

Well written momoir of a journalist who travels to China as a young Chinese Canadian allowed to study at Beijing University. Communism first intrigues her, but then she matures and sees that the theory and practice are 2 different things. Her descriptions of Tiananmen Square were both sad and scary. I still remember years after reading it how she stayed in the Palace hotel (I've stayed there and it was fun to read about this govt. run hotel) and how the people, especially the cook, were impacted by the events at Tiananmen Square.
