A great first novel, though having read some of Matt's fiction on his blog a while back I wasn't entirely surprised. There could definitely be some improvements but the overall story and execution were fantastic and I can't wait to read the next instalment (get writing!). Featuring vampires, shapeshifters, Japanese folklore and a little romance from the perspective of the vampire. Well worth a read. Review to come.

Story was good, Indians seeking revenge for injustices against them over the years. This is an early Davenport novel, and I am glad he matured as the series progressed. I was ready to slap him silly over his teenage behavior in this installment.

so beautifully written and crafted. just a joy to read, although it was incredibly sad. i did think the ending was slightly less thought out than the rest of the book, but it was always going to be incredibly difficult to write a satisfying ending. lovely lovely story.

I REGRET PURCHASING THIS BOOK. Ugh I had so much hope going into it. I read the first chapter on sample on iBooks and I was soo excited so I purchased the book.BIG MISTAKE.It started off with so much action and promise then the moment chapter 1 ended it all went down hill from there. Drug Lords?The Hood the unnecessary slang,the writing,the unlikable main character...UGH I couldnt get past page 50 without gagging.I tried but...I just couldnt finish it this f*ckery.I read PN Romance all the time and I wanted to find a book i could racially identify with and when I FINALLY find something that could possibly fill the void I get this...UGH.
