This book was fun and interesting to me when I read it. I only read this book from the series. I don't think I realized it was a series as a kid, or I probably would have read more of them. As an adult, I find it funny that this is the only Jerry Spineli book I read when he has so many other great ones out there. While I remember reading this book, I remember very, very little about the plot itself. It was an okay read to pass the time, but nothing about it jumped out at me; it isn't memorable almost 20 years later.

This is a fun, fast read, but has very little value as literature. Of course. It's chick lit, though, so it's an easy read. My biggest gripe is that it is yet another book that seems to romanticize cheating on your partner.

It was interesting. I thought it was a pretty brave book of her to write because honestly, it makes her look CRAZY. (all the mixed messages she's giving) It made for a interesting read (kind of like rubbernecking), but I imagine if it was me, I would never want people in real life to know these things. But she doesn't seem aware of that. I don't know. Kind of weird. But interesting.

Overall I liked the book but the pace was very slow & it took a long time to care about Gen. It took an even longer time to care about his travelling companions. I was mainly interested in how he would be able to steal the stone. So much of what is really going on is hidden & the reveal is satisfying enough to excuse the sluggish pace of the first third of the book.
