this book is chock full of gratuitous sexual metaphors. yum (yuk). funny in parts; indulgent throughout. poorly channels his predecessor (kurt) and contemporary (heller), both of whom i much prefer. i just can't get behind characters who spout philosophy. it feels cheap.

I found this book an incredible read that I finished it within days.

I was intrigued with the author's idea of having a constant "Need" to help strangers, a representation of angel on earth, the so called the Forgotten. While the idea itself is interesting, the execution of the whole thing is flat and anti-climatic. The dialogues are dry, and there's hardly a character in this book that I come to like or memorable to say the least. I find myself really hard to like or even care for Charlotte Cassidy, for all her role and sacrifices that she made. The way she portrayed in the book only came off to me as whiny, weak, boring, and who only think of her boyfriend, Harlin. Oh, can I say that the relationship between her and Harlin is too cheesy to bear? Overall, this is an okay book, but very forgettable. Probably not worth the time and money.

Sometimes a picture book can capture emotions on a much deeper level than many self-help books. This is an intriguing children's picture book that has some really adult elements in it. Despite the mature theme, I think it could be really valuable to a student or child who has lost someone and is coping with grief. The reader is able to connect with Rosen's grief over the loss of his son and start to understand that it is okay to feel sad, but that happiness returns, as well. The book could also be valuable to many adults for the same reason.

I LOVED IT!!! It took 6 hours but all 424 pages had me hanging on every word! Once again Patterson does an excellent job and I can't wait to get my hands on the next one! Bavo!!

Always fun to see the troubles Stephanie gets herself into

It was decent. The grammar is absolutely horrid, but can be passed as the author using slang for the younger characters in the book. It's a very easy read and kind of slow to get started, but it kept my interest and I plan on getting the second book in the series when it comes out in June.

Another grand Redwall adventure with new characters and lands, and some unexpected surprises. Redwall books may often follow a certain story "formula" but they always surprise me in some way, and this one was no exception. Great story!

It was great to think of Mogul India and the Renaissance as parallel and sort-of speaking to each other. I'd never considered that they were happening at the same time - the way I learned history was so episodic....

Harry gets dark in this one. The ending was intense and I feel sets a nice tone for the next few books.
