Just finished listening to this audiobook. I've read the book already but it was good to listen to it. The narrator was a bit pedantic but it was lovely to get back into the story and re-listen to the story as I've recently finished book 4 in the series. So it was good to get a bit more of the background on Matthias. Great fun as I do love the way that J.R. Ward writes.

Read this last year as part of the (now defunct) book club at my work. NEVER would have picked it up otherwise. But I found it quite fascinating! Genghis Khan had a lot more depth than most people realize. He was brutal and savage, yes; but apparently no more so than others of his age, including those from the "civilized" world. And a lot of the things he instituted led to many of the things we have today, from inventions to government. It was quiet violent and graphic though; some of the stories left gross images in my mind for weeks!

The best book I have read in the last two years. I wish there was another book like this out there that captured me and moved me like this one. I have never learned SO MUCH from a book. And don't let the non fiction part scare you. It was riviting. It was important. I can't reccomend it enough.
