Another "Electronic Bookshelf" quiz book. This book is about a girl whose mother keeps making them move from place to place. As the story progresses, the girl finds out why. That's really all I remember about reading this book.

When you read the novel Danny Gospel, you might feel like I did, as if you are floating through the mind of someone with a heart of gold as they remember their life while they move through the present. Set mostly in Iowa, Danny is a member of the Gospel family, renown for the concerts where they performed hymns. Through an array of events, Danny meets and interacts with a slew of characters who are almost as quirky as he is. My favorite was his sister, Holly, who declared her own personal religion as a “Christmasist” because she celebrated the birth of Jesus every day by keeping her room decorated with lights and handing out small presents every morning at breakfast (seriously, how awesome is that?). I just loved that concept. Usually, I do not enjoy reading books that do not make immediate sense to me. I read for relaxation and don’t like to have to think too hard. This one was different in that respect. I finished it last night, and I am still trying to wrap my thoughts together. In some ways, I feel that Danny was in some sort of a coma through the whole book. Some of the places he went and people he met along the way seem like things that could only occur in a deep-sleeping dream. Mosquitoes acting as navigation systems and the whole trip to Florida are just two things that come to mind as rather hallucinatory. Another peculiarity is that I generally don’t care for books where the ending is unclear or sad. This one, I think, was both. The reader is left to draw their own conclusions, I believe, but somehow that was okay with me this time. I’m just guessing here, but I think Danny is in a better place now, with his angel in white. Overall, the book was a delightful read and I give it a 7 out of 10.

Although it was a relatively short book this story seemed to drag on and on. There was a lot of gorgeous description of Spain but not enough meaningful dialogue between the characters. The story also jumped around too much between points of view and it wasn't always clear whose it was. There wasn't a big revelation, maybe a small one, and it didn't really seem like the conflict had been resolved. There was a little romance, and while that was cute it was very abrupt. And then the book ends. There's no true ending just a few paragraphs saying they went home and so and so did that or so and so did this, the end. I was left feeling like I had truly wasted my time and effort trying to read this.

The shift to Shaun's point of view in this, the second book in the trilogy was surprisingly seamless and well-handled. I enjoyed the way Grant managed to include Georgia's voice in the narrative. Overall, I felt that the story was weaker and didn't flow as well as the first book, but the characters remained compelling and the whole package was still an entertaining read.

Onu seviyorum .. önce epizodu gördüm sonra kitabı okudum ... harika olduğunu düşünüyorum, iki insan arasında garip bir aşkla ve yasaktı ama birlikte sevişiyorlar! sadakatsizlik gösterse de, ama bence Tanrı meggi, babasıyla sevgilisi arasındaki aşktan doğan oğlunu kaybettiğinde onları cezalandırır.
