This book, really is better in the original language. Which doesn't say much. It's awful. It's slow, dry, and painfully descriptive. At one point, Tolstoy takes two pages to describe Anna walking toward another character. Two pages. For ten steps. *dies* Let it be noted that I couldn't even make it halfway into this tome. It is, however, an excellent soporific.

I got to a third of the book and couldn't finish it. Darcy and Elizabeth are way too out of character. Darcy is portrayed as a very angry husband and Elizabeth sounds as silly as her mother. Oh well, the idea was interesting but the book itself was too boring for me to want to know how it ends.

This book was really good. I enjoyed it a lot, especially being a teenage girl in high school. Melinda goes through most of what teenagers go through in high school. Amazing book....I just wish it was longer!!!
