Sarmago's take on the Christ story is very remeniscent of Scorsese's The Last Temptation of Christ. In his account, Jesus is very normal, and resists being given the burden of his responsibility. When he sits down for a conversation with God, he wants to know what events will occur as a result of his martyrdom. He finds out about the Spanish Inquisition, the Crusades, etc., but also realizes his willful resistance is irrelevant. He dies saying, "Forgive Him, He knows not what He does."

YAY! Ranger Danger! I don't really remember the previous books... I don't think I liked it much. I like that Ranger is in the picture lots! :) And Morelli is sort of more tamed, I think. :) This series is all about the triangle and I'm fine with that. :) More books like this one! This was funny and not too stupid (if you know what I mean). I found my self laughing out loud which is rare, I'm a really quiet reader. I didn't hate any characters this time around. :) Story/ Mystery/ Action wise, things were pretty obvious from the start. And there weren't any over the top insane crazy explosions. I would have wanted more car instances but I got what I wanted from this series, a good light read. I did notice that it seemed more PG13 this time. I don't know. That's my impression. I am happy that the ending the same as most books before. Vordo for the win! That old woman cracks me up. It seems like she's crazier this time around. Animal Magnetisim!

This was an easy-read, romance novel. I enjoyed the story, but think that the author could have built up the ending more. It seemed like the ending was rushed.

Louie's story was interesting, but not well told by the author. There was a lot of detail, more than I care to have. I will probably not read another book by this author, as I felt the same way about Sea Biscuit.

The world-building in this novella is well done and believable. I found the story riveting and filled with characters that demanded my attention – some of whom I loved and some of whom I really disliked. The story is adventurous and unlike any other I have read. It flows smoothly, and I honestly felt satisfied with its length because it is so tightly constructed. The ending is satisfactory. I feel certain there will be a sequel, at the least, and, most likely, an entire series, as there are other characters, such as, Arun’s sexy brothers, the temperamental siren, Cameo, and the faithful, stalwart servant, Addy, all of whom, surely, will be clamoring to tell their own stories as well. The dynamic between Grace and Sam continues to be the best thing about this trilogy. Their love is still achingly beautiful and is one of the few redeeming qualities of this book. Cole and Isabel became more likable and slightly less annoying. But at the end of this book there were too many unanswered questions...(view spoiler) I felt like the "scientific" explanation of being a werewolf was interesting in the first two books, but in this one, it seemed completely implausible and poorly expounded on. (view spoiler) I will continue to love Shiver fiercely but I don't think I'll be reading this or Linger again.
