This novel is much different than any western literature I have read, with every thing from ethics, honor, love, and all other ideals being different from what us modern westerners would believe it to be. Honor is the biggest deal it seems, even over Life, Happiness, or Love, and throughout the story you have characters hunting each other, either to find a famous teacher in hopes of regaining lost honor, or hunting someone down to punish and kill them because they caused dishonor to the family name. Family is also huge deal, whatever name you have practically alienates you to a certain class. There is no way around it, even if they have skill or money, their name is the ONLY thing that determines their status in society, it seems. Love is conducted in such a different way in this period of Japan; the melodramatic, gushing romance moments we read all the time in Western Novels if completely absent. Any PDA is hugely dishonorable, and love seems almost emotionless compared to the way westerns express it nowadays. Overall, a pretty enjoyable book. Now I have to go read the next one in the series...

Interesting and unusual, but I think it is a bit overrated.

I really enjoyed Georgia, sinner extraordinaire! Interesting unfolding of her life and I enjoyed learning about it in pieces! She is southern, feisty and fun to read about!

I can't say this sounds interesting, but I've loved what of Dorosheva's art I've seen.

"Deliciously creepy"? True. I had high hopes for quite a while. But the end was really, really disappointing. Big no-no for gothic lit.

An interesting story about two damaged men - a vampire and a vampire hunter - who together find themselves leading a rebellion as they reassess their current roles in life. These two men find that if they want a future together, they will need to fight for it - not only from those who intend them harm, but their own pride/egos and their past. I liked the world building that is surprisingly solid for a novel under 200 pages, and the depth of character was good too, particularly for Richard, as he gets additional depth from the way he works and from the friendships he has made. Indeed, his 3 female friends almost steal the scenes at times. I guess the only real issue I had with this novel is the 'insta-love' scenario. If you don't mind insta-love, or if you're like me and able to ignore it for the most part, then you'll enjoy this novel.
A new version of the traditional American folk song, in which the expected guest will be wearing frilly pink pajamas and juggling with jelly when she comes. It's a great book to use for kids who love cowboys and for kids who love to sing and act out stories. There are suggested actions at the back of the book. I can't wait to use this in Musical Tales!

گتسبی رمان شگفت انگیزیه...مرثیه ای برای منقرض شدن نسل انسان های آرمانگرا و کسانی که برای رویاهاشون کی جنگند
Not my favorites of Rachel's, but once you are sucked into her books you will read them all...including this one...(I have admit, the cover annoys me...I do not enjoy looking at some girls perfect stomach when I close a book.)
