Love this book! One of the best out of the seven or eight Bagthorpe books. Mr. Bagthorpe goes unhinged and begins a campaign for survival, while Daisy Bagthorpe (the four-year-old neice) has become obsessed with funerals. Add in the lunatic Aunt Lucy (who doesn't believe in Time), and you have the makings for a classic Bagthorpian comedy.

I really enjoyed reading Kim MacQuarrie's book The Last Days of the Incas. He told the history with great attention to detail and made it a worthwhile read. I have never been to that part of the world and I hope to do so in the future.

i went through a martin amis phase in college. he's witty, crass and a great writer of flesh-and-blood characters. this one is a mind bender. my memory of it is reading it before bed, waking in the middle of the night, and thinking confusedly that i had to go back to the previous evening.

I loved this book and have never read anything like it! Cedric does exactly what the description says: he physically flashes back to moments, times in his life but with the mind, knowledge, life he has lived as a 58 year-old man. An incredible novelist, Mark Lavorato seamlessly brings together different stories, perspectives, histories, and, with poetry, draws us right in to each character weaving through Cedric’s life. Could be complicated...but it isn’t – it is beautiful and it is beautifully written, set in a unique and exciting format. Must-read!

Ok I need book 2 like RIGHT NOW! All in all, I had a blast with this book. A lot of the feel was lighter than the VA series, although we're still dealing with strigoi and spirit magic craziness. Maybe because Sydney as the narrator is a little more removed from the situation... But rest assured, Sydney as a narrator rocked. I'm so glad Richelle chose to have her tell the story and in first person. She is definitely more Georgina (from her Succubus Blues series) than Rose, but still awesome. Most of my favorite characters appeared, or there was the promise that'd be appear at some point in the series. Sydney and Adrian have the best banter ever and I'm so excited to see how their relationship progresses. Also if you loved Adrian in VA you will love him times a thousand in Bloodlines. If you liked him in VA, then you will now love him. Pretty much every line he says is gold. I'm really excited about seeing Eddie's character grow and his story line become more complex (fingers crossed for this). And yeah, I don't want to spoil anything for anyone. But FYI, we finally learn what Abe has on Sydney. And the book ends on a note that will make you crazy to read book 2.

i read this one a while ago, but i just finished listening to the audiobook and i loved it. the reader has a nice voice and i enjoyed getting to hear the how the towns and names were correctly pronounced. now i am finally going to finish the series.
