I thought it was a great book for approaching philosophy without having to read a dense philosophical text.

I have to say, I'm a bit disappointed with Laura Carpenter's work. Although I think she's spot-on regarding the topic, the book is neither intellectually invigorating nor a practical page turner. I think that if you're not in touch with youth culture you can learn a lot. But, most of the research to me (at 25) seems redundant. She doesn't take the knowledge to the next level by incorporating any form of theoretical analysis, either. But, if you’re a parent looking to better understand the life of your teen, check this one out.

I've read and re-read and it always seems to help me one way or another. This isn't a book about writing, it's to help the artist in confronting their inner daemons. I'm not one for self-help books, but this one isn't written by someone who just writes self-help books. Maybe it's not for everyone, but it certainly helps me.

I liked this book although I felt it wasn't as good as crave. One of my favourite things with this series is where the story comes together with the BDB series and this one didn't really have much in that way besides a mention of vampires, a speeding black escalade and a chance meeting with a vampire in the end who wasn't one of the brothers but those who have read "Unleashed" will know who. As I said it was a good read fans of the series will enjoy it and will no doubt be broken hearted in at least one scene which I must say was a total shock.

Fast paced, but once you outgrow choose your own adventure, it's hard for you to read books narrated in the second person. You just find it annoying.

Just couldn't finish it, although I tried to push through, the momentum just wasn't there. And with so many other books out there, why waste time when it's just not clicking? Maybe I'll pick it up again some day, because the storyline has such potential! I really wanted to like it!

Book two in the fever series picks up where the first ends, with Mac declaring war on the fae. She is gradually changing from the fluffy woman introduced in the first book, to a stronger, more determined woman. She still likes the idea of wearing light colored clothing, but is practical enough to know the need to change. Basically her outer appearance is beginning to change so it matches the internal change. But to go to war Mac will need the help of two people, Jericho and V’lane. Both of the men are wild cards in my opinion. You don’t know how either will really react in any given situation because they both have a higher priority. V’lane (fae) is up front and makes it clear his queen comes first, but Jericho is more of a dark blob. I don’t know what his true intentions are or what truly motivates him. All I know is that he is sneaky, gruff and handsome as hell. Despite coming through in Darkfever, I wonder if something more important will arise and prevent him from aiding Mac. Moning introduces several new characters in Bloodfever. My personal favorite is Dani, a young sidhe-seer. Dani is vital to the series and I loved her dynamic attitude. Another newbie to the series is the sidhe-seer group. It really bothered me. The members were of the mind that they should hide and pretend nothing is wrong. Like Mac, I didn’t get why they just stood by and watched the fae destroy their world. Their leader, Rowena, especially pissed me off. Bloodfever is a nice follow-up to Darkfever. So far the books have felt like parts of one large book. It’s almost like they were the first two chapters in a five chapter book. The story ends with a bang and will have you racing out to pick up the next book in the series. If you’re smart, you’ll pick up the entire series so you can set down book two and pick up book three. Happy reading! Scooper Speaks

This book was written expressly to teach secondary students how the American healthcare system works. I found it informative, if shallow. But then, it was written for high school students so it's not surprising that I wanted still more information. The story is engaging. I think it's not quite as informative enough to be worth a bunch of high schoolers reading it for healthcare system info, perhaps. I came away with an oversimplified, murky idea of how things work in our healthcare system. But... was it more than I knew before? I guess so. At least, it did introduce perspectives that I never thought about before. Now I want more info. And, I have to add that it didn't seem weighted towards any one point of view more than another. Many "informational" books are really someone's argument for a certain point of view. Hm... I guess I'm still undecided about whether this book really serves its avowed purpose.

The book is about a girl who falls in love with this guy who her mom doesn't approve of. I give this book 5 stars because it is full of drama and romance.
