Honestly I read this book way before the movie came out I swear! It was my favorite book of all time for some reason- I was completely drawn in by the story- kind of Lord of the Flies esque but with a modern charm. I did not want it to end, in fact I think I was visibly upset when I finished it. Eager that the movie was made, I will say it does not do the book justice, but of course the story has been told already. I would recommend it definitely- especially if you haven't seen the movie.

I enjoyed the poetry. It wasn't in my favorites of all-time, but the characters were loveable and believeable. I enjoyed the youth coming of age as her town goes under and she has to make a future for herself theme. Not too heavy, but meaningful.

I'm glad Shane got his story, and I love how he finally lets his guard down enough to let Trevor in. I feel as vindicated as Trevor that people finally saw a different side of Shane, one who can hurt as well as bleed.

friday night lights by h.g. bissinger is the story of a small town in texas where football is pretty much life. if your on the parmeiain panthers football team you got it all the fame the glory the girls and anything else you want. But this book isnt only about footbal like i thought it would be it really went in depth into the lives of the players as they try and win a state championship and try and live up to the legacy of past teams. I really liked in this book how the author went into everyone's point of you but i wouldve still liked a little more football. I would recomend this book to sports fans or people who have an intrest in the affects of sports on society.
