Keegan is definitely is the star of this story. My partner and I were talking about this book last night. Of course, Keegan was the hot topic. We both tried to figure out his appeal. He certainly is a memorable hero. From his angelic looks and the total sexiness he portrays...whether intentional or not. We decided that it not only is Keegan beautiful on the outside, he is on the inside too. His painful past was hard to overcome, but Keegan's determination to get past it, and have a chance with true love, and happiness with Scott makes him not only a survivor, but human as well. We loved him. We loved Keegan and Scott together. We wish their story had been full novel, but I guess we can't have it all. Thanks for the recommendation ladies!

I didn't think this book was as good as the first one. The author tried to create the same feeling as the first one, but I felt like she was just speeding through stuff in order to crank out a book but still provide a lot of situations for the characters to go through that would ultimately lead them to where she wanted to be. I found the situations and the things that happened in them shallow and somewhat predictable. I also think they were created in a way that made them seem impossible and fabricated. Overall, I thought it was a pretty unsatisfying read. I gave it three stars because I liked the first one and I liked knowing what happened to the characters, but was disappointed in the book itself.

Hands down, one of the best in American Literature. An awesome, awesome picture of good and evil.

The story of Eddie Chapman is gripping enough but I couldn't quiet the inner voice that said "Eddie was a con artist who contrived to get a free place to stay and lots of luxury goods to eat throughout the war by playing both sides and sticking his neck out maybe twice in four years." Most of the meaingful results achieved from running the Zigzag case really came from clever MI5 agents - fake an explosion at an airline plant; misreport what parts of London have been bombed. Not Eddie's ideas; not really a hero in other words. But an anti-hero can make for interesting reading, too. Author Ben MacIntyre is upfront about his leading man's complex and cavalier motivations but makes a good yarn out of it. It's a fun read (or listen, in this case, since I heard narrator John Lee's admirable audio reading of it).

I don't really like the book because it was all about drugs, and her life, and how suffer she was. And so many drugs name that I don't understand, and because it was from her tattered diary there's some pages which irrelevant each other. Well, the simpler word is.. confusing.

A book I had to read but didn't mind. I liked writing about Crusoe and Friday.

Bought this because I was 20 pages from finishing Neuromancer, and it looked like the least hateful pick in the Chicago airport bookstore. (I was also trying to find something that could hold my attention after 250+ pages of hardcore, fast-paced cyberpunk action.) I finished The Road in two sittings. Did not look up from the book except to refill coffee. Cried at the end, and I was in fight-or-flight mode the entire time I read it. I was hoping someone would try to steal my bag so that I could unleash some adrenaline. Unambiguously recommend.
