What a delightful book! It wasn't necessarily a page turner, but it was a great feel-good book with some pretty serious ideas to ponder. It's about a homeless black man an a rich white art dealer (true story) who become friends and teach one another about loss and acceptance of others. And about faith and hope. Overall, a very pleasant read!

This book took way to long to get to the heart of the story. The author kept introducing characters and their points of view but without any understanding till almost the end of the book as to what their true role was. In the end I don't think everything sat well together or that a true conclusion was arrived at.

I was simply blown away by this book. I found Ms. Shriver's style to be fresh and compelling. Every few pages I came across a perfectly-worded revelation. I would recommend this book to people who have already have children, or are certain that they never will. This book played on my worst fears and I think that is what really held my interest until the end. We Need to Talk About Kevin is ultimately as touching as it is heart-rending. A beautiful read.

***SPOILER ALERT*** This book caught my attention from the start it had action, and a little romance. I wanted to finish it in one reading but unfortunately I didn't have the luxury of free time. I gave this book 3 stars because there were a couple of things I was waiting to see happen. Gretchen and Grace finally find out who Ursula's sister is but they never even get a chance to approach and have a conversation with her. Thane disappears on his own there is nothing to let us know even a tiny bit as to what's going on with him. What really made me give this a 3 star is the ending. It was so disappointing just when things finally started happening the book ended. It was a cliff hanger and I hate it when books end abruptly, granted there's going to be a trilogy but wrap up the ending so that it doesn't seem so sudden. Again, I liked the idea of the story the characters all come together nicely each with their distinctive personalities. The book is an attention grabber but I just wish the author hadn't ended the book like that.
