Her writing is very candid, upbeat and often brought a smile to my face, as Ephron recalls her past life, describes her present life and talks about the future. While reading it, I enjoyed it immensely but frankly once I closed the pages, nothing really "stuck". I gave it three * as I think it was a fun read full of truisms for women looking back. But, it's not something I'd read again.

This book freaking sucked. It was hypocritical and highly self-loathing of being Asian American. The protagonist is extremely unlikeable and though certain points scream of "coming to terms with growing up Asian American in America, my cultural identity crisis" most of it falls entirely flat and pointless. Avoid this waste of time at all costs, especially if you're Asian American.

This one was just not as interesting to me as some of the other "Weird" books. This had a lot more strange and a lot less scary. Seriously, "The Rolling Muff" Come on now! Uh...okay...Thought Michigan would be much more interesting. I was not impressed!

I really enjoyed this book, it was a bit of a slow starter and I wondered after a few chapters if I would end up finishing the book, but a few chapters in I just had to keep reading to find out what would happen next. I did find the fish reference words kinda of annoying but I'm looking forward to reading the sequel, it's the first mermaid book I've read and I'd definitely love to read some more in the future!

Although well written and full of energy and action, this was not my favorite book. The plot's inclusion of burning people, including the chosen "fire carriers," if you will, was too upsetting to me. (I have a morbid fear of fire.) The story-line seemed to take on an evil overtone too, as Enna struggles with the desire to burn and yet to hold on to her promises to herself and others. 6th grade and older.

I do not read a ton of Fantasy books, but I have and I am knowledgable about the heavy hitters in the genre. Patrick Rothfuss can now be considered a heavy hitter after piecing together such an amazing story that makes me gravitate to the book like iron to a loden-stone. It is intriguing and interesting and the type of book you read for 3 hours and than realize that its 3 hours later. A great read!
