A love story in disguise. A handsome teenage boy who was dying of the Spanish influenza and was changed in to a vampire due to his mother dying wish goes by the name Edward Cullen. Isabella (Bella) Swan a clumsy and accident prone teenage girl who moved from Phoenix to the small town of Fork, were it is dreary and very rainy. This book keeps you wanting more, it has adventure and it has passion. The name of this book is Twilight. Twilight had readers hooked. Many people who read this book read it in like a 2-3 days. It had readers tuned. This book left readers wanting more and more, flipping the pages to find out what would happen next. When Edward and his family was in the field playing baseball while it was lighting, the other vampires came and they wanted to play but they smelled Bella and they knew she wasn’t a vampire. “You brought a snack….” “The girl is with us, I think its best if you leave now….”After I read this part in the book I couldn’t put it down I just had to keep reading to see what would happen next. Their was also adventure in this book. The adventure in Twilight is very exciting. It went from playing lighting baseball, run at the speed of light through the forest and to jumping from tree to tree. There was not one part in the book were there wasn’t any adventure. The adventure in twilight made this book even better .It was already a beautiful love story but the adventure pushed this book over the edge. Bella was always ready to go on adventures Edward had for her and she loved to go on them, because she wanted to be one of them. Twilight also had passion. The depth of emotion shown between Edward and Bella pinpoints the angst of teenage love. Edward cares about Bella so much he takes care of her, looks over her like a guardian angle and saved her life when she was about get hit by a car in the school parking lot. Edward came right to her rescue. “Where did you come from? How did you get to me so fast? You were across the parking lot.” Throughout the book Edward and Bella love for each other was getting stronger and stronger. Twilight was more of a love story than a horror novel. Great characters, Adventure, and passion such a beautiful love story unfolded. I loved this book!!!! After I read this book I wanted to read all the other twilight saga books. At first I didn’t really think I was going to like this book. But once I started reading it I was hooked. Twilight kept me wanting to know what would happen next, it had some exciting adventures, and passion. I recommend this book to all teenagers and anyone who likes to read love stories.

Wow. I always knew Communism was bad, but I didn't really understand what the philosophy or values were of Communism. I found this book explained these things to me in a simple way that I could understand and it also showed how Communism has influenced our history. It was fascinating, and scary. What was really scary to me is how so many people, like I was, don't understand Communism and how we accept so many of the Communist ideas as just a part of life. A very eye opening book.

The Devil and two cronies arrive in Moscow with hilarious consequences, apparently. So far there have been 1 death, 1 wrong incarceration in a mental asylum and one teleportation to another city, and this is in the first 100 pages or so. Sadly, I didn't find this at all "hilarious" as other reviewers have done. Perhaps it's not a very good translation ? The wikipedia entry http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Master_a... tells you a lot about the plot, themes and allusions, so I won't go into them here. I found it a hard book to read and the multitude of Russian patronymics and diminutives left me slightly confused about characters. The story of Pilate and Jesus as well as the other main narrative didn't really gel for me. I was pleased to finish the book, but didn't get much pleasure out of it.

WOW, this book takes place in the late 1700s, about a little girl coming to America from Ireland and whose parents die on the journey so she becomes an indentured servant to the captain of the ship. She is taken to live with the slaves and to learn to serve the family. Lots and lots of twists in this book as we follow Lavinia through childhood, adolescence and adulthood. Lots of grim episodes but also some wonderful moments of family and friendship. One of those "must read" type of books.

I would consider this Graphic Novel to be a companion piece to the novel Ender's Game. I don't see how you could understand some of the action and images if you have not also read the novel. So as a stand alone Graphic Novel I wouldn't rate it to high, there are too many pieces of information and ideas that have been cut out, or are hiding in the back ground of images. That being said, as a companion piece, it is very good. There are plenty of little things that make this a joy to read and admire. Slimming half a novel down into a relatively thin Graphic Novel obviously requires some cuts, and in general they did a good job, but again only if you have read the novel do I think you can really follow what they have done and understand what has been cut and where. The art and coloring are both well done, the style is easy to follow, flowing, and very detailed when it needs to be. Though I was at first glance not enamoured with the cartoonish style, once you get into the book it works well; even if sometimes the characters are a little hard to tell apart.
I never knew it could take 3 hours to read 30 pp...or maybe I should give myself the benefit of doubt and say that this was a horrible translation.
