Amazing what some women need to resort to to get by. I wish it was no longer true, but I know better.

I like this book; it remains unique in comparison to other books that claim a similar project. I've read a couple other books that attempt to explain the "origins of analytic philosophy" (see Scott Soames or Herbert Hochberg), but what sets this text apart is its focus on continental origins. Both Soames & Hochberg limit their continental investigation to the philosophy of Frege while spending more time on the Cambridge school (G. E. Moore, B. Russell, early Wittgenstein...). M. Dummett expands his search to other key German & Austrian figures that most definitely contributed to the formation of the analytic tradition. Dummett not only spends time on Frege; he explores Husserl, Brentano, Meinong, Bolzano, and others as well. The Anglo-Saxon tradition, according to Dummett, really originates in certain Austrian intellectual circles of the late 19th century. Dummett's book is important and interesting for rightly stressing this point. Why is this fact largely unacknowledged? Dummett suggests the rise of Hitler as having something to do with it. Intellectual activity (along with the focus on such things) shifted (or was displaced) to the West as a result of the Third Reich. It's just another way that Nazi fascism devastated European culture and social life. This book is also useful for its commentary & explanation on the analytic/continental split....There is alot of intelligent and perceptive insight on this issue. Dummett is difficult but well worth the effort. Check it out.

The rating only applies to the English version of the book. I'm not eligible to rate the Indonesian version because I'm the translator. It'd be like raving about my own nephew. But I'd like to hear what you think.

It took a bit of time to understand the writing style at first, and the lack of quotation marks was annoying. BUT the story was amazing.

this novella about baseball is better than the tom selleck movie "mr. baseball" where he plays baseball in japan with the president from 24 who also sells all state insurance. "it's called a swoop and swap"

This is horrible,if it is going to be the formulation of western viewpoints towards muslims. Still, I'm following the debates on it in internet.

Great read, and easy as well. The concept of this is amazing and I completely recommend it as good practice for all couples. The anecdotes are fun and the inclusion of celebrities is sometimes an eye roller and wouldn't have really determined, for me, whether or not I would have read the book.

*WARNING - I'LL PROBABLY GIVE AN ACCIDENTAL SPOILER* YA/Fantasy is my favorite genre. I was excited to read about Banshees - they are sorely under-represented in teen fiction. Although I liked the book, I was disappointed that I didn't see much "soul screaming" action. It could've taken place more in previous books, I don't know, but I did enjoy the mara, "Nightmare." It was a fun read, moved at a great pace, and I adore Tod. I could tell he was in love with Kaylee, while she remained oblivious. Thus, I know there will be another book forthcoming. All in all it was a good read, but there were moments when I had to put the book down and walk away for awhile because of Kaylee's lack of comprehension (for lack of a better term) when it came to Nash.

Talk about "lost"... and author who lost his way. After the wild success of "Wiked" and his moderately-well crafted book about Cinderella (I can't even remember the name), the author must have been afraid. Afraid to be in his niche, and afraid to be get out of it. This novel is... what? About ghosts? About Dickens? Just a story about a sad woman? Confusing, really. That's all.

Bazı insanlar bunu hak ediyor ama kitap komik olmak için çok uğraşıyordu. Bazılarına zorlukla çıkardı.
