This book was amaze. I loved the suspense (and the romance!!) but I gave it 4 stars because It was a little too long for my liking. Just personal preference. The writing was brilliant and funny, I can't wait to read the rest of the Honor series!

Somehow I skipped this book when I was catching up on the series. I’ve already read up to Notorious Nineteen and like I had observed in that review, you can pretty much pick up this series anywhere without skipping a beat. Morelli and Plum are off and on again every other page, another car blows up, Ranger is still a man of mystery, lots of slapstick comedy…same old bullshit, etc. The only difference is that Val contemplates marriage and we learn Ranger’s choice of shower gel. Bvlgari…yummy! What made this one comedic for me is that it starred one of my favorite side characters- Sally Sweet. I love Sally. Something about an extra hairy man in drag tickles my funny bone. I also liked some of the skips featured, like Carol who held up a Frito Lay truck in sheer PMS salt craving desperation and the woman who only gets into trouble for dental coverage. As crazy as these skips sound, you know in real life there are those that do even crazier crimes and they are what make the job fun. Kudos to Evanovich for not forgetting the crazies.

READ THIS BOOK! it's fascinating and it makes sense. it explains a lot about why our bodies malfunction in the ways they do and how many diseases/genetic disorders were actually trade-offs for increasing our genetic fitness (the ability of your offspring to produce viable offspring themselves). i read it for ecology + evolution of human disease, and it is the most interesting and accessible science book i've read.

I had to read this book for a business class, and as far as a school read goes, it was interesting. Gladwell includes interesting examples to illustrate his points. I would highly recommend this book to marketers, small business owners, or entrepreneurs; but really anyone can benefit from its message.

As always Barbara Michaels delivers a delicious gothic style mystery. She has the ability to scare you without the gore. She easily conveys the horror her characters feel without the graphic descriptions. Her plots are always well thought out, her clues subtle and she is very thorough. This is one of her best, and they are all good.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. The comments made about there being "too much sex" in the book were unfounded, in my opinion. This is a book about human fraility, hatred, and sinfulness. However to have these, you must also have courage, love, and forgiveness and everything in between, before, and after. Catherine hated the before and after and was searching for the "in between." She began searching for her "in between" in the wrong way and was willing to do whatever it took to have it, which is why she answered the add for a "reliable wife." The snow in Wisconsin was so very blinding to her that it caused her to have headaches. As she learns to overcome the blinding snow, she comes to realize that she longs to be a reliable wife. She has to forgive herself and she must accept the forgiveness from her husband. Her love for him is symbolized by the cardinal which sits in stark contrast to the whiteness of the snow. The snow did not initially reflect purity; it reflected all the pitfalls of life. But in the end, the snow, along with the black ice, became their saviour.
