This is the second time I have read this book. It's been many years since the first time. I was about to give the book to goodwill, but I decided to read it again first. It's quick read. I think I will keep it now and read it from time to time. It's a good reminder of the kind of mother and I am and can be.

Thought I read this book when I started it, so I returned it. I think it through me off when Mike got her the condo gift for Moise her cat. Going to read it again and finish it, since it was just similar to one of her other books. She is a great author and I love ther recipes she puts in the book too.

I was really excited to start After Obession because 1) it's has a ghost/demon possession premise, 2) it's told in alternating perspective male and female main characters, and 3) Carrie Jones was on my list of authors whose books I've been meaning to check out. This novel turned out to be a very quick read--I've read it all in two days (which hasn't happened in the while since school started). One of the things I did like about it was the character of Alan. His Native American background was interesting, he was sensible and practical and his character was just different in a good way. I though his character was better developed and it stood out more than Aimee's character. Nothing about Aimee really stood to me. She just your typical young adult paranormal female character with nothing to really distinguish her from the rest. Moreover, I wasn't feeling the romance between Aimee and Alan. The way Aimee broke off her relationship with her boyfriend and her feelings for Alan, things just happened too fast for it to be believable. The story's pacing was fairly fast-paced and I was never bored while reading it. I really liked the alternating perspective and enjoyed reading what Alan and Aimee were thinking and how they felt. I also liked the premise of two special teens with unique gifts having to fight a demon who not only was possessing Courtney, Aimee's best friend and Alan's cousin, but was also basically infecting the whole town with its evil. Despite that, the execution wasn't as solid and the writing, overall, had an uninspired, mainstream quality about it that I wasn't a fan of. The last fourth of the book was especially exciting and that was when the characters, the plot and substance of the novel finally came together for me. I really liked how the authors ended the novel. I had some issues with After Obsession but for the most part I would liken this novel to an ABC Family movie--it's fairly entertaining, enjoyable and a quick read. **Reviewed by Michelle for Michelle & Leslie's Book Picks book blog.** http://booksandmakeup.blogspot.com

I really liked the first half but found the second half a little far fetched. Either way, I like the family and the message they are sharing with the world. And they are from Nebraska!

Had a lot of language...but what else can you expect from the military? Otherwise it was a very good book. Great characters.

I don't know why Gaiman is so addicting, but he is. Love how the story is webbed together. The Rose Walker line is brilliant.

It had its moments. I would have liked it more if the author would have just stuck to the 1600's story.

"plot-holes in my lawn." i thought this book was ok. i kept wondering what it would be like if the easter egg hunt referenced a decade i actually know a lot about (90's) or one i want to know a lot more about (20's). there is a radio show on the local independent radio station called "songs from big hair" where each week a different dj plays songs from the 80's. i kinda hate that show because even though the shows are markedly different each week they still are pretty tunnel-visioned into that 80's steez. this book is a lot like that show.
