it was very good, it kind of drags a bit in the middle but becomes very good. the ending doesnt really tell you much, leaves you in suspense and i dont think there is another book.

This is a translated version in Danish, the original language of the book is Icelandish. Ejner Mar Gudmundsson is a rather young auther from Iceland. Though he is not well known in the rest of the world, he is famous in Scandinavia, has recieved the most honourable literature prize in Scandinavia (Nordisk Raads Literaturpris, 1995). His works are translated to many languages in the area, also to German and some other languages, but I couldn’t find very many of them in English. This was alright, but because of the scant information there is for Robin Hood it felt that there was a lot of filler to pad it out. A number of chapters didn't mention Robin at all so that it seemed Baldwin was going off on a tangent and had forgotten the aim of the book. You could see or rather hope that he would bring it all together in the concluding chapter but some of it did not seem relevant. Determining which king was reigning during Robin Hood's exploits did not require a potted history on each possible and not so possible candidate for example. His conclusion was interesting and not an approach I had read/heard about before so for that reason it was worth the read. Sadly because of the elusive nature of his subject he didn't need quite so many pages to tell us his theory as to the true identity of that well known man in green.

I really enjoy the Sport's Guy's column most of the time, especially as he is another die-hard Sox fan. This collection of columns leading up to the World Series win is worth a read if you haven't seen them before (and some of the footnotes are worth reading all on their own), but this much Sports Guy at once can be a bit much to take.

This was my first read of this author and I will read more. Good writing, even though the plot of this was somewhat predictable. The movie is coming out with Matt Mcconaughey and I can see him in this part. It was a fast read, entertaining and, if you didn't already, know more about how the justice system is tweaked. It's all about deals.
