Pretty slow at first, but then it just sucks you in. What Greg Mortensen has done in his lifetime is absolutely incredible. This book made me want to be a better person.

This book was about a girl named Lila. She has an argument with her father and decides to leave but her plane gets in into a crash while shes stuck inside a pod. her father goes out to find her and her plane is somewhere near the island in the ocean. The father and couple of other people help him while their are be other people on this island and are trying to kill them. All this happens while Lila is running out of air I like the book because i didn't know what happened next and they had different settings while while Lila could die, and her family and helpers are in danger. Frank E Paretti wrote this book and a series that goes along with this book. this genre is action and realistic fiction because these things to happen in the book could be real too i would like to read other of Frank E. Peretti's adventurous books. Date i started: august 10

I still love Richard Russo's writing style, but I didn't enjoy this book much. I found the main character, Jack Griffin, to be disturbingly self-absorbed and cruelly snobby. Because Russo has a very effective way of delving into the psyche, I felt like I had too much insight into how this man's thought process worked - basically it made me feel uncomfortable most of the time. The story was engaging enough to keep me reading and I admit to laughing aloud at the family drama toward the end of the novel (at a wedding, of course), but to someone interested in reading this book, I would strongly recommend any one of Russo's other great novels.

3.5 stars is more accurate, but I'd like to contribute to an overall higher score in hopes that more readers will check the book out. "Saturday" isn't so much the story of a life-altering day in Henry Perowne's life, but an in-depth portrait of Perowne and his mind. Few remarkable things happen to Henry throughout his extended day, with the exception of traumatic encounters with a street thug that both end a bit too conveniently, but Henry himself is far more interesting to know. I like McEwan's ironic use of manipulating the West's fear of an Islamic terrorist attack by having the Perownes attacked by one of their fellow countrymen. It's a timely book, and was even more so upon its publication in 2005. I look forward to reading more by McEwan, but I hope his other works are more active. Not to say that I didn't enjoy this little experiment (it's good to see writers diversify), but if the film adaptation of his "Atonement" is any clue, I should be in luck.

Accused on murder he didn't do, Landon flight away from the murdered man's brother who insisted that he killed his brother and demanded a revenge. In his flight, he found an orange stones that led his life into another direction and also into the path of beautiful Apachian named Dark. Actually, I love the story. The idea of a shifters who created from spiritual-powered stone was a new concept that I like. What bothered me was the fact that this story supposedly centered around Lan and Dark's relationship, but I found this story lack of it. What described more was Lan's former relationship with a blacksmith named Tom, which I think best described less so it could gave more space for Dark's characterization, not just a dark Apachian who looked calm and silent. And also, the scene when Dark explained to Lan about what happened with his body needed more pages because I hardly could feel Lan's temporal resentment of being a werewolf. But this story promised a good vibe for me, so I'll read the sequel.

Haha! Okay, I admit, I won't really be able to use this dictionary, as it's written ENTIRELY in Sinhalese, also the Pali is in the Sinhalese script, which I admittingly (surprisingly?) cannot read. A transliteration of anything is of course not provided. But it's truly a gem and it's the only Sinhalese dictionary I have. ^^
