Very interesting ideas raised in this book, which I generally agree with. However, the writing is difficult and often unclear. Took me a lot longer than a book of this length should to read.

I honestly will never understand, how someone could not Will *-* Merged review: This book is epic, by far Cassie’s best work so far. It is like an emotional rollercoaster. Cassie makes you laugh so hard and in the next moment she rips your heart out and stomps on it. There are a lot of plot twists, and half of them I didn’t even see coming. Where the end of Clockwork Angel left us hanging clueless, a lot of things are explained in Clockwork Prince, though of cause there are still loose endings for CP2. Cassie manages to write the book that you feel everything the characters feel. I fell in love with Jem and Will all over again. I was swooning over them like a little girl and for the first time ever I could understand why the heroine in a love triangle just can’t choose only one boy. Both have their times with Tessa and you just want to crawl into the book, kick her away and take her place. I didn’t mind that Tessa kissed both of them – for the most part of the book I liked her a far greater deal than in CA and could even see why the boys are in love with her – but that only made worse what she did in the end. I didn’t think it would be possible to love Magnus more than I already did. He is my favorite character overall from Cassie and this book proved me again why – though there was one moment where I really wanted to hurt him (that’s a first^^). But every scene with him and Will is just funny and heart wrenching all at once. But the best of all is the relationship between Jem and Will. Cassie describes it with so much love, I could really feel how much they mean to each other and how much they need each other. I love the banter between them and how they are able to communicate without words. They really seem to be each other soul mates. And that is, what makes the end so unbearable. CP has no cliff like CA, where we are left hanging, but it is truly heartbreaking. I’m not one to cry easily – in fact most of the time I ask myself why people cry at all while reading – but this ending left even me a bawling mess. I’m really afraid what’ll happen in CP2, how Cassie will top this drama and what it’ll do to me.

Miller writes an engaging book to explore what theology looks like in the 21st century. Instead of propositions and outlines, his theology shows itself through every day experiences. He doesn't hold beliefs because he can prove them with logical arguments; he holds and propagates his beliefs because they work and because they make life better. I was encouraged by this book to reexamine how good God is and how good it is to love God.

Another book that's supposed to be top fiction from 2008. I've decided i just don't like books where the character makes bad/ridiculous choices over and over again - and we don't have enough insight into the character to have any sympathy or understanding of WHY they would keep putting themselves into these awkward situations. I didn't like the first part of this book at all - I wouldn't of finished it except i was on vacation and ran out of reading material. The second part was better - but didn't redeem it. I quickly got to the point where I just didn't care about this man.

I enjoyed the look inside Iran, but I struggled at times to make it through this book. I know that the whole book is centered around the books she taught, but sometimes the analyzing of the novels interferes with the actual narrative, especially since I haven't read all of the novels she likes to reference and discuss with the reader.
