I love the are staves and responses at the end of each chapter. I'm going to take a break in between this book and the final one before finishing. I can't quite explain why but I just think I should. I have a lot more that I need to read first, like The Stand and Hearts in Atlantis. But I wasn't just talking about Stephen King novels, I'm also talking about all the other pieces of literature that I need to read. Just one more turn before I reach the clearing at the end of the path.

I actually didn't read this, I listened to the book on tape on a recent cross-country trip. But in listening to it I was absolutely taken with the beauty of the writing, and characterizaiton of the sad old man that is the main character...I almost didn't want to stop driving so I could hear more. It may, however, be less powerful in the reading, who knows.
