This author writes a mixture of suspense and romance. This is a good suspense story. I recommend this author if you are looking for something easy and entertaining to read before bed or on a rainy day. :)

I'm very picky about my graphic novels. They have to be visually interesting and have a good storyline. Scalped fits the bill perfectly! Gangster/film noir look & story. And nice historical stuff, too. Love it!

A fast and fun read. I don't understand what all the hubub was about it's a work of fiction anyway. And yes the Merovingian kings did claim to be the descendants of Christ, but there isn't anything to back it up....

If you don't like complicated plots, this is not the book for you. I really liked each of the characters in the book, enough so that I want to keep reading and find out what happens to them. However, I can see how this book would be frustrating because there really is no ending. And there are a lot of people to keep straight- I would recommend reading as much in one sitting as possible- the more time away the more confusing it could be. But all in all, I like it so far.

** spoiler alert ** I finished this book in a grand total or 4 hours. I think that's a record for me. (I really should start keeping record shouldn't I?) So, the world ended. It actually ended this time. I was bawling so hard when I thought Max was dead. AND MAX AND FANG FINALLY GOT THEIR BUTTS BACK TOGETHER!!! I was so happy! One of my friends (the one who let me borrow the book) said she wasn't satisfied with the ending. I must disagree though. I was quite satisfied with it. Just about the only thing I have to say against the ending is that it should have gone longer. I would have liked to see how life goes for them in this new world that was just for them. My after reflection went like this: I've read two books, both in which the world ended. One (This is Not a Test) and one Nevermore. This is Not a Test left me feeling desperately hopeless. Nevermore left me feeling hopeful. I thought about it and thought about to figure out what was different and then I got it: In Nevermore, Max had her flock and the people she loved with her despite the apocalypse just having happened. Sloane on the other hand was taken away from those she loved most and saw them worse than dead. I'm glad I read both of these books so close together. It made me realize that no matter what, should should protect those you love no matter the cost. It doesn't matter if the world is ending. Because when it comes down to it, that's all you have.
