This is a definitely a well-written and well-researched novel. But for some reason, the book as a whole didn't sit right (which is why the 3-star rating)... Not to say that it was disappointing, but it is definitely one of my lesser favorites from the author - still definitely worth a read.

profoundly deep book written by one of the most controversial yet loved writers of modern times.

While I don't necessarily disagree with Ensler's thesis, or the help the project has provided to various women's charities, the whole thing, as a literary or dramatic work, is very problematic. Anything more honest than a fawning critique reveals how shallow the whole thing is; there's hypocrisy, repetitive symbolism and metaphors, a heaping of that empty sort of communal feminism that makes everyone feel good but doesn't actually change anything, and, upon close inspection, evidence of the kind of "creative" editing that awkwardly turns the mundane things people have to say about their sex lives into what is supposed to sound like meaningful drama, but is in fact just forced. I'm sorry, but all the positive vibes of a theater full of people chanting "cunt" isn't going to make it any less awful when the same word is said by some asshole trying to hurl invective at a woman when he is just to trying to make her feel like shit.

This is a great book about where the food we comes from. Along with Fast Food Nation one more reason to stop eating meat. Knowledge is annoying that way. Pollan makes science accessible.

Push is a powerful story about a young African American girl who, despite her broken past, still has the strength to look forward through optimistic eyes. I highly recommend!

This was a very good story about life on a river boat. The side story of the husband stalking his wife who has abused was a little distracting, but it was still an engaging story.

The author outclass this story the hilarity, and descriptive words of the teenager named Holden. The authors narrative, and funny used of words I laughed the whole time I was reading this book. Holden, was a teenager age of 16 years who's trying to find out life on his own way. A typical teenager with full of devilish idea, and wanting to be different......just be contented his life by catching on the rye. Holden's fantasy; He tells her (Phoebe) his fantasy of being “the catcher in the rye,” a person who catches little children as they are about to fall off of a cliff. Phoebe tells him that he has misremembered the poem that he took the image from: Robert Burns’s poem says “if a body meet a body, coming through the rye,” not “catch a body.”

Trin is a mechanic who lives in an roadpost in a postapocaliptic world. There is no laws and no more cities, only desert and preybirds who prowl on men. The Gunners are men who hunt the preybirds and keep the humans safe. Gerrick is one of this gunners, a free spirit and an easy lover. Trin falls in love of Gerrick although he has never seen him. He asks to everyone about him, gives sexual favors for stories about this man, much older than him. And one day Gerrick comes to see this boy and obviously asks him much more than Trin has given to other gunners: he asks him, without words, his body, his love and his soul. Only to let him soon after. But Trin will do everything to take this man with, even cut his wings so he cannot fly away from him: but can you catch a free spirit? and if you manage so, Gerrick's spirit will survive? This is a very melanchonic story, about love and jeaously, about want and need. Gerrick is a strange character, you can love him but easily you can hate him: he is careless and use the old man motto: I love you so I leave you to not hurt you... Trin is young and deeply in love and doesn't want to listen to savy words: he only listens to his heart, even if it led him to a wrong path. He led him to an end that leave you with a bitter taste in mouth, but it is the only real end you can have, cause it is inside the characters. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000V025FW/?...
