The Relationship Cure had a lot of good insights into making connections ("bids") with people to develop healthy relationships. The book really wasn't what I expected though and I got bored with it. I thought it would have more research from studies (which I'm sure all the points and such were taken from studies, but I wanted to hear about the actual studies). Also, especially towards the end of the book all the same questions and exercises got very repetitive. I think there was good information, it just didn't hold my attention.

This book is a little hard to get started reading (what with a whole new vocabulary and everything) but it is way worth it. Even if you have to read the first chapter a few times through stick with it.

Ok so the writing isn't exactly pulitzer prize material, but OMG- If you ever ever want to gross yourself out, I mean to the point where you know this guy can't be lying because there's no way in hell you'd be able to come up with this kind of sickness, then check this out. For a gory, horrifying glimpse of how life in prison is in the third world.

read for my online lit class, but had it in the back of my head to read after seeing Precious. Sapphire doesn't hold back at all. The book was a lot more explicit than the movie (i guess, duh), but had to be in order to really get inside what's going with this girl. I really, really enjoyed it and Sapphire's ability to make the reader connect with this character is phenomenal considering her pretty extraordinary and devastating circumstances.

Editorial Review: It's 18th Century England and news of an arranged betrothal shatters Emerald Lady Penhavean’s dreams of one day wedded for love. Her instinct to rebel against marriage to a man more than twice her age causes severe conflict between her and her brother, but Lord Penhavean insists she will marry the Earl of Moorby no matter what: with or without her consent. To ensure her compliant to his bidding he resorts to cruel measure and destroys the one thing she loves above all others. Distraught, she flees to the creek with intention of setting herself free from fate worse than death. There she encounters a stranger, a young buccaneer of wise if witty countenance. Something in his eyes and tone of voice stir feelings Emerald cannot ignore, and life once again seems preferable to that of death. A bit predictable. Still, a good suspenseful read.

So far out of all the Liar's Clun and the Royal Four series, this book did contain the most explicit scenes of sex. A bit disappointing on a few levels, but still an enjoyable read. It just lacked a little content. I am still trying to figure out what the true story was about. The plot just seemed to get lost in this book. Sorry Celeste, but not the best in te series. I hope the next book is back to the original formula.

it really is heartbreaking. and genius. and hilarious. very raw and honest as well which is really attractive oddly comforting to me as of late. also, i can't stop thinking about the first page: "First of all: i am tired! i am true of heart! Second of all: you are tired! you are true of heart!" thanks Dave Eggers, I appreciate it.
