I found it frustrating that before Sam, Hunter or Justin could continue on with their storylines I had to reread a brief summary of their past like a flash back, as if to remind the reader who they were. The book isn't that difficult to follow along and I found it repetitive and used only to fill up space. Also dislike how some words would repeat repeat as if the character was struggling to speak. Sanjit did it a lot; so annoying. That, to me, mostly justifies the 3 star rating but you would be silly to not continue reading the series. This book, like the rest, leaves you wanting more. I like Lies more than Hunger but neither beat Gone. Not by a long shot.

This book totally blew me away. After the first chapter I was hooked. There are just so many twists and turns and you really will not see most of these things coming. And you will never know who you really can trust. In the Shadows will have you hooked and dying for more! Giselle's life gets out of whack right away and every time you think she has a handle on her new situation something crazier then before comes out! You start trusting people with her and then BAM! guess what? They are the bad guys. She was just an average girl once upon a time but now shes thrown into the mix with vampires and nothing is ever what it seems. This was just an intense read. I am serious there is just so much happening. Its not over done either. She is just stuck in these impossible situations. And the person you least suspects ends up stealing her heart. I just loved it! I can not wait to read more of this series!! Its a must read for anyone!

This book is nothing more than a series of corporate cheerleading stories. A better title would have been "Chicken soup for the soul of your investment planner." Seriously it is an unalytical collection of nonsense that fails to address over 95% of the worlds population. A great book for an economic ruling class who wants to justify the damage they do. It fails to properly account for the environment, sustainable agriculture, the lack of labor protection, culture, monopolism, the IMF/World Bank scam, and the ideas of fair trade. You can send an email to everyone in the world if you like but it will not solve the problems of poverty, ecological devastation, and oppression.

Awakened was like any other House of Night book but with a different plot. I'm not sure why I continue to read the series but I'm guessing it has to do with the drama that has kept me glued to every page. Awakened continues after Zoey's soul is returned to her body and is temporarily taking sanctuary at Skye with Sgiach. As Neferet discovers that Kalona didn't fulfill his duty, she begins to go back to planning on how to get rid of Zoey Redbird. This was just a very simple and easy read. It's not one of my favorites but it was enjoyable. Of course there were still some relationship dramas and many more surprise deaths. *Minor Spoilers* I did feel like the characters no longer had use besides fueling Zoey's hatred for Neferet and felt as though their deaths happened too fast. I know that sounds pretty strange but if you've already read it, it was only like a paragraph. (Exaggeration) The writing for this book was very easy, but I did feel like there was an over usage of the word love. It was used so often that the feelings don't get across to me anymore and couldn't fully comprehend how much they actually cared about each other. Overall this was a fun easy read and would recommend this to anyone who's looking for a drama filled book.
