i was really hoping for a cute book to add to my "Hat" story book collection. But it was just okay. Cute rhyming, but the ending was just sort of there. Too bad.

Likely to only be completely engrossing to an aspiring surgeon, I nonetheless thoroughly enjoyed this encounter of the legendary John Hunter, a pioneer of modern surgery. I started this book after a professor of surgery along my interview trail recommended it, and I did not find myself disappointed. While it can be tedious and intricate at times, I forged ahead and was rewarded for my persistence. For those about to enter the surgical profession, already entrenched in it, or anyone interested in the evolution of medicine at all, this book provides an enchanting perspective on modern healthcare.

Reading this book was like finding a box of old photographs. There was a ton of great information, but it wasn't very organized and gave less analysis than detail. Still, who doesn't enjoy sifting through old photos?

Гениальная книга, которую должен читать каждый и наверное не раз, пока, казалось бы, такие простые истины намертво не осядут в голове. Когда читаешь, вдруг осознаешь: да это же я! И сразу становится понятно, в чем были и есть ошибки в отношениях, и самое главное, становится понятно, почему мужчины в большинстве случаев ведут себя именно так, как описано в книге...и что дальше с ними делать! :) Не могу сказать, что эта книга сможет стать спасением для "умирающих" отношений, но вот для "начинающих" вроде меня - это must read. Я перечитывала ее несколько раз, с промежутком в несколько лет, каждый раз открывала что-то новое, полезное. По-своему опыту, мне кажется, что те вещи, которые я почерпнула в этой книге, в достаточной степени "посодействовали" моим настоящим отношениям.

I got this book for free on Kindle and happened to be going to Italy so I read it. It was really just a nice little story, nothing earth shattering at all. But gave me a feel for Italy. It was a nice love story about an older man returning to Italy after the death of his wife. A nice, neat little love story evolves and it was a pleasant read.

Having recently read The Fall by Bethany Griffin and the fact that I love EAP, I thought this was going to be a 5 star read. For some reason, this just didn't catch hold for me. The romance was the focus of the book. I wanted to learn more about the plague and how it impacts life. Other than the inconvenience of having to wear a mask, the characters didn't seem too bothered about the plague. At times they even rip their masks off usually to engage in kissing. Nothing says romance like someone ripping away their life saving mask. I wanted more Prospero too. He was the main bad guy for the first half of the book, and then we find out that there is a minister who is the actual bad guy. Prospero showed such promise. He is the kind of evil that is inherently evident. He has no compassion and is a total narcissist. A combo that is always entertaining for the reader (not so much for the characters). So I loved Araby's name. I thought it was beautiful. I felt she would be master of her own destiny in one passage, but then would allow other people to decide for her in another. Sometimes it was Elliot, others Will and her parents. I understand she had to let Prospero dictate his terms. I wanted her to just scream at everyone to leave her alone and let her decide for herself. This was a good book, it just missed the eerie atmosphere of The Fall. I will be reading the second book because I believe that Prospero will play a larger role, and I want to see his get his comeuppance.
