i randomly picked this up at the free book place the other day (bmore may not have much, but we do have free books) and thought it would be an appropriate read for memorial day, since it's about the daughter of a guy killed in vietnam. it was a quick read. not fabulous or anything, but it kept my attention.

Gory and disturbing, but Grey's a deeply compelling character and you want to keep going to find out how things shake out for her. I don't normally care for pure evil as a motivator in crime novels, but Hayder does as good a job as you can with it.

I LOVED this book. It was suspenseful and fun to read. I loved the history and the possibilities presented of folklore actually existing. The research that she put in to writing this book is really impressive. I think it can be compared to Dan Brown's books Davinci Code and Angels and Demons
