Wow, this is an incredibly powerful story about the power of lies and how the choices we make can affect the rest of our lives. It is full of life lessons about fear and loss and love, among other things, and I definitely recommend it!

I didn't find this book all that interesting at all. I'm a recovering addict and I still didn't enjoy this memoir. He seems so selfish and egotistical. The co-dependency admittance of fault was the only part I enjoyed. However, he betrays his real thoughts when he does on a rant about ecstasy. Drew goes off on propaganda about how much it damages the brain, blah, blah. It wasn't so much what he said (some of which was very ignorant) but how he said it. In short, I just couldn't stomache Drew's ego enough to enjoy this book.

I like Bret Easton Ellis. He reminds me of my youth. But now that we are old (BRET AND I), his writing shows our youth is a twisted and unrecognizable thing that horrifies ourselves. This story horrified me. And James Vanderbeek's affectless delivery is really pitch perfect. Plus, it's worth reading the first 100 pages for all the Bret Easton stylish name-dropping.

The first few chapters of this book are worth skipping. I would start at California. In the end it is a good book but I would recommend skipping a few chapters...

Yecht. At times cliché and at times melodramatic. You can almost see the veins on Hosseini's forehead thumping in desire to make you cry.

Moulin Rouge! Small but well-versed survey of the artist's work. Another great Taschen book.

I AM LEGEND has to be the best horror story I’ve read since last year. The setting is a house on Cinnamon Street surrounded by vampires and a man named Neville has to try to fight off them too live. He sound proofs his house, he blasts his music, he surrounds his house with garlic and mirrors and even puts lights around his house. Garlic, stakes and light is his only weapon against them. The Theme has to be what seems as good against evil. You have to be able to understand this book to be able to get some things. Like the ending I had to read over because I didn’t get it. Basically, Vampires were human fears which then turned to being ‘just a legend’ but then when Vampires turned out to be real because of a virus called Vampirus, they wiped out the human race so only few survived. Then when the Vampires made a new society they feared Neville, one of the only few humans alive that they knew of. So they sent out to execute him. So humans became the legend that VAMPIRES where afraid of. I’d give this book 10 out of 10!

Any review I write here is going to make me sound stupid. Somehow I left it not really having enjoyed it, but having renewed my appreciation for Hemingway's writing (though not necessarily his skills of positioning stories in a collection - even though I'm still not convinced that's the best word to describe this).

The plot is labyrinthine, beginning when a television reporter catches a local social worker in a sting for pedophiles. Then it turns out that he and his four Princeton room mates have all been ruined during the past year by what turns out to be a kind of viral Internet rumor mill. There are many secrets that must be uncovered before the story runs its course. It's all a little too complex, and the denouement is a little too pat. Still, a decent airplane or beach read.
