Barbarian Beast B*tches of the Badlands is a collection of three novellas set in the world of Warrior Wolf Women of the Wastelands. Barbarian Beast Babes of the Badlands: Apple and her boyfriend Sam join the pack of warrior wolf women. How will Sam adjust to his status as Apple's property and his new robot legs? Barbarian Beast Babes of the Badlands was a nice way to get the collection started and re-introduce the world. It was cool reading about Apple, Talon, and Hyena again. The colossus and metal worms were good villans. Horrendous Horror of the Hateful Hamburglar: As a band of Outlanders fights against a horde of mutants under the control of brain-eating parasites, the Hamburglar's horrifying past is revealed. The Hamburglar, greatest samurai that ever lived, was only briefly glimpsed in Warrior Wolf Women of the Wastelands. He takes center stage in this one. My favorite line was "Before he was the Hamburglar, he was an ordinary psychopath." Ferocious Female Furries in the Forbidden Zone: Set months after Warror Wolf Women of the Wastelands, Slayer steps into a leadership role with the tribe and makes Hyena her second in command. Talon and other Wolves are infected and the girls head south into the Forbidden Zone to find the cure. The backstory of the metallic worm parasites takes center stage in this one. The culture of the Forbidden Zone was fascinating and the dynamic between the Wolves after Slayer took charge made this the standout of the book. While I didn't enjoy this one as much as Warrior Wolf Women of the Wastelands, it's definitely a good read and should appeal to everyone who enjoyed the first book. If you're needing a lady post-apocalyptic werewolf fix, look no further.

Oh...Sophie Jordan...How do I love thee...Let me count the ways: 1. Jordan knows just how to bring you up to speed on the action without having to rehash plot of Firelight. It was so seamlessly done that I was able to "jump" right in to Vanish. 2. Jordan knows just how to give you a good pace to the story. I never felt like I was bored at anytime; each page just led into the next, into the next so quickly and with anticipation. 3. Jordan knows just how to write a TRUE love triangle. I never thought I could (view spoiler). I really feel Jacinda's frustration and conflict over her 2 choices. Even I am as conflicted! And the premise for her conflict over the 2 is so deeply rooted in so many influences: the pride, her emotions, her duty, her loyalty...it's not just a simple answer as "Oh, I like him better so that why I must choose him." I like the complexity of this triangle...which gets really complicated at the end. The only thing I was disappointed about was the lack of Will in Vanish. I totally understand this story was more about Jacinda's experience with the pride and her interaction with Cassian, and the focus really wasn't on Will so much...but I guess it's just my own selfish interest in Will; I just wanted to see more of him. Don't get me wrong, he makes a very steamy appearance, but I just missed more of his interactions like in Firelight. Overall though, Jordan does not disappointment. I can't wait for the next installment. Jordan knows her craft, and she does it very well.
