Succubus Heat is the fourth book in the series. I'm a huge fan of Richelle Mead so I love reading all her books. I read the first three books in this series last summer and I decided to keep reading it after reading the Vampire Academy Guide (which is another series by Richelle Mead). I enjoyed reading this book because I really like this series and especially its character and I missed them. These books are filled with action,suspence, mixed with mythology and folklore and that's what I love in Richelle's books.But I must confess that even if I liked this one it was not as great as the other first three and that's why I give 4 stars instead of 5. We're meeting Georgina again 3 months after her break up with Seth and this book is all about her darker self, still struggling with this break up and then followed with Georgina losing her abilities (like she said) after Jerome is kidnapped and becoming a "human" again. Now talking about the characters Seth is just the perfect guy !!! He is a writer, he is intelligent, shy but brave, generous and tender. And his cellphone ringtone is Where the street have no name my favorite U2 songs !!! Yes I know i'm crazy... Even if he is perfect I wasn't really into his relationship with Georgina. Well don't get me wrong their couple was awesome in the other books but in this book he annoyed me a little. And I was a little uneasy... Maggie don't deserve him ! On the other hand Georgina is with Dante now and I didn't really like their relationship. But I was happy to see Georgina's friends again : Cody, Peter, Hugh... The characters that i'm interrested the most in are Carter and... Ramon. I was so happy to see him back finally ! I was waiting for this since the first book. I really can't wait to know more about these two and i'm sure that i'm going to love the next one since I know that Ramon will be in it a lot at least I hope so! About the end another thing that I love/hate with Richelle Mead she always opens new actions and questions at the end and I always want to read the next book as fast as I can.

The Memory Keeper's Daughter is an incredibly poignant story about love, loss and secrets. I was enchanted from the very beginning, Edwards' lyrical, dream-like style drawing me into the lives of David and Norah Henry. It's heart-breaking the way David withdraws into himself with his secrets when he had every chance to make things right, even from the very beginning. I felt that I wanted to yell at David a few times to just tell her already and more than once I wanted to slap Norah for being such an idiot. And yet, you could almost feel that her pain was real, palpable. The one part that was a bit jarring for me was the bit when David finally verbally accepted his son's goal in life... and Paul just runs of and does something incredibly stupid. Like, hello, if my dad said that at that juncture, I would have been delirious with joy, not anger. Edwards does spin it out a little more than necessary though, and it got a little boggy towards 3/4 of the book, and the endless floating quality of the story seemed a little tiring by then, but luckily... the next tragedy happened at just the right time to keep me interested in the story. (Okay, I'm a sucker for tragic stories, the bittersweet stuff that makes you want to cry)

A real page turner --but not in a good way. First let me say that there was a lot that I liked about this book, especially at the beginning. I liked the premise: widowed Yvonne, a school teacher, goes to Turkey, which is where she and her husband had gone on their honeymoon, 20-something years earlier. I also was very fond of Yvonne; I found her interesting, sympathetic, with compelling personal problems to work on during this trip. And I really liked Vida's prose, which balances descriptive travel imagery and psychologically intriguing interior monologues. Now for the things I didn't like. As the book progressed, I grew increasingly dismayed at the protagonist's behavior and choices, and the author's preoccupation with problems that seemed to be more plot-ploy than believable. Plus, a little past halfway, I started to suspect that there wasn't going to be any resolution to Yvonne's issues from her own strength of character, and in fact there might be dissolution. Dissolution would have been fine as an outcome except for one thing: the series of events didn't hold together. The plot turns got extremely unbelievable and the metaphors got heavy-handed. At one point, Yvonne is lost in a dark catacomb, racing towards the exit. That was how I felt at that point in the book: I was in a dark place, racing towards the end. Happily for me, it was a short book, and I was able to exit within an hour.

I enjoyed this book very much. It was not at all what I thought it was going to be. I enjoyed reading the perspective of an Indian person coming to live in the United States and what that is really like. Then it was interesting to read about the children who are born Americans and how they live with their parents. I think it would be similar for all children of immigrants and dealing with the traditions of their parents that are so different from their friend whose parents are native-born Americans. So I truly enjoyed the book but the ending for me seemed a little trite. I did not expect it and did not enjoy the ending. But the rest of the book I loved and that is why I gave it 4 stars.
