Scary, but good. I listened to it on audiobook, and if I had been reading it, I would probably have flipped through some of the pages about the breaking down of the person and things like room 101. Then again, now that I've read it it's not so bad after all, but I would never re-read it, just because it was so creepy.

Lots of magic in this one and the Tsurani connection was a nice surprise, I was worried we had seen the last of them. I kept wondering how he was going to end everything when he didn't seem to have enough pages left but basically there's closure here but not completely. So you have to read the next book to find the conclusion. Also lots of action, it was quite a ride with some well written battle scenes.

This book has mostly pictures, and very few pages with words. The pictures tell the story, and the facial expressions on the animals are not realistic, but entertaining. In the middle of the book is a page that you have to turn the book in order to have the picture facing the right direction. Towards the end of the story there is a page where Mouse and rabbit are talking to each other in the picture, while words run along the top of the page is spaces. A very entertaining story, even with so few words.

As usual, Norton critical editions are the best editions you can get of classic works. This book is one I have a history with. I tried to read it in high school and read about ten pages before screaming with frustration and taking it back, wounded, to the library. I then avoided it for ten years. Now, I have to say, I read it, all of it. It is still difficult, and I know I missed stuff in it, but it is absolutely mesmerizing. The language and technique is of the highest quality, and I almost want to reread it now to capture what I might have missed the first time. Completely recommended, even though it is tough to follow sometimes. Try harder, it's worth it, I found out.
