It was OK I think they should of made it into a bigger book. (The plot was rushed.) It was about this young girl/cheerleader being attacked by a vampire who makes her a vampire and then throws her into a ravine. She then recovers 3 days later as a vampire. Or so she thought................... but then she realizes that she is undead (or a half-blood vampire) not a fully blooded vampire. (she realizes that when a full vampire tells her. I can't really tell u WHY she is A HALF BLOOD NOT A FULL BLOOD bcause it is a looooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnggggggggggggggg story.) And she was created without a licence to do so. She has to then plad her innocence to a vampire court to get a lisence. Along the way she falls in love with the full-vampire that told her she is only undead. ReAd It If YoU wAnT tO.............BLEH ****COUGHS**** trying to b scary while typing is hard. BYE........... Great story telling. I was captivated from beginning to end. This is a fascinating story of survival, in spite of a crazy mother, in an unknown world. I especially liked the steady and compassionate, voice of our heroine Serena, with no residual of bitterness or shame. Serena is truly a tween in every sense of the word; age, nationality, family, cultures, language and her own desires. This story was meant for film.

No doubt, this is a thrilling, emotion laden, heart breaking, uplifting, roller coaster ride of a story. It is impossible not to be swept, by land and sea, into the moving and implausible story of Zamperini. It’s a gut-wrenching and heart string-tearing page-turner of a story. Read it: you will be rewarded by an exciting story. But, sorry, it’s not a 5 star book. The analogy is when school kids are assigned a different state to write about, and give a presentation to the class. Virginia, Massachusetts, New York, California are thrilling, exciting states, interesting to the student and class. But, whoa be to the poor student assigned South Dakota, West Virginia, Arkansas, and Idaho: it’s tough to whip up enthusiasm, really even interest, for these noble locations. (I mean no locality prejudice; it's just the way it is.) A 5-star book, in my opinion, is an exceptional book because of its language, design, creativity, originality, or something. And, while well-written, Unbroken, is none of these. I am no curmudgeon; it’s what I believe. I have read a number of incredible true tales of human tragedy, triumph, greatness, and fallibility. Included on this list are Into Thin Air; Into the Wild; The Hot Zone and others. Unbroken perhaps leads this list. It's a good read. Just, not a great book.

Very interesting and emotional book, however not for the weak of stomach. I loved reading the author's notes at the end and finding out more about the historicity of this novel. There were some portions in the middle that were a little slow which I kind of breezed through. There's not a lot of dialouge in this book, mostly just descriptions so if you're the type of person that wants dialouge, forget it!

This is a well written and riveting series of books. There are many surprising twists to the story line. They may not be for everyone as there are graphic and violent details. The last two books of the 7 book series have not been published. Therefore, I recommend that you wait to read any of them until all the books have been written. I don't know how many years I will have to wait now to complete the series.

the only essay that interested me was consider the lobster which was thought provoking. all of the essays are sledgehammers, hitting you with the same point over and over. i got close to the end because he throwsw in some fasscinating details...but not enough.
