I couldn't even really say why I love this crazy, creepy short story, but I do. There's just something about the process of mental deterioration... I find it fascinating, but I'm totally into psychology and mental health and all of that fun stuff, so if you're not, this story probably wouldn't really be your thing.

This is the book that The Secret History wishes it was. Were? One of those.

As a teenager I think it was thrilling that the Author Elicia, could capture the very mind and thinking of a teenage girl. I know some of the grammar was bad, but it almost added to the mystery of what was going on. Devin, the main character, was kidnapped, forced to kill, and then, at 16, has to reenter the world, all the while the kidnapper is watching, waiting for his chance to steal her once more. Her mind goes in and out of reality, as I am sure it would in real life. I am waiting for more books from Elicia and look forward to reading them all. she is my new favorite Author.

Fans of Fresh Air rejoice, Terry Gross's book is just as enjoyable as her show; fascinating interview moments from a great host.

Didn't really hold my interest, even during the "exciting" parts. The trouble started when I had trouble believing that a guy who wears jean shorts is irresistible to women the world over, and just went downhill from there.

It is sometimes just so satisfying to read a final book in a series, especially when it is a perfect wrap-up. I loved how Richelle Mead managed to resolve the insurmountable hurdles keeping Georgina and Seth apart, and though there were parts which were somewhat predictable and corny(view spoiler), this book was a good one. Great plotting - I really liked how seemingly unrelated events and characters in other books ended up playing an important part in this book. I admit to some tears being shed towards the end, and can I just say the final courtroom scene rocked.
god what a great series. i turn to weetzie bat whenever i am in a certain mood. the kind of mood where you want to eat avocados and wear white silk and stay out all night.
Night Pleasures by Sherrilyn Kenyon is a book about a very down-to-earth young woman who is a member of a large family of paranormally gifted people. At the start of this story she dates only normal, boring, non-gifted men but then meets a man who is very different from other men(because of a mistaken-identitiy kidnapping). They bond and the adventures begin. As it turns out, he is a centuries old Greek god who was cursed to be a hunter. He hunts down bad vampires. I was able to complete reading this book but did not find it to be as enjoyable as I had hoped it to be. As in all books with dystopian and paranormal themes there is a structure, rules and laws abide by or there are consequences to pay. I did not care for this world and it's structure. I'm also not very interested in Greek mythology when mixed with other fantasy genres. I'm sure there are many people who greatly enjoy this book and the series that follows. They seem to have a lot of folllowers. I would recommend this book to others who like this mix of genres.

Eugiendes' debut novel is an eerie reconstruction of a summer of the bizarre suicides of five adolescent sisters in 1970’s suburban Michigan. The story is told through the cobweb-like recollections of several male narrators who, as teenagers, shared an obsession for the strange and attractive Lisbon sisters. At the core of this narrative, Eugiendes seems to be exploring the way in which collective memory is constructed and how the meaning we ascribe to both personal and collective experience is illusory. Told in lyrical and haunting prose, Eugenides maintains a bewildering feeling throughout the book never submitting to sentimentality or cliché that might make the sensational subject matter less compelling in that hands of less talented author.
