بقیه ی آثار خانم روانی پور، تقلیدهایی نه چندان موفق از "اهل غرق" است. هنگام خواندن این رمان، لحظه ای آرام نداشتم. هر جا و هر صحنه و هر توصیف، و رنگ و فن تازه ای داشت. آنچه مردم "جفره" را میان زمین و دریا حیران و سرگردان نگاه داشته، التهاب و اضطراب عظیمی می آفریند که تقریبن هر انسان ایرانی در هر کجای آن سرزمین با خود حمل می کند. مردمانی که از زمین به دریا و از دریا به زمین پناه می برند و از هر دو سو گزیده می شوند، خدایان خود را گم کرده اند، همان گونه که فرهنگ و تاریخ خود را. بسیاری از اوصاف، در حین کوتاهی تمامی ناباوری و اظطراب انسان ایرانی ست. وقتی اولین رادیو اولین کلمات را می گوید؛ "اینجا تهران است" همه ی حاضرین این دروغ را می شناسند، چرا که آنجا "جفره" است! زنان رمان اهل غرق، زنانی بی پیرایه و اصیل اند، کمتر جایی از شخصیت شان خدشه بر می دارد. با خواندن هر جمله می دانی کیست که سخن می گوید، چیزی که در بسیاری از رمان های فارسی وجود ندارد. در مورد "بانوان نویسنده" در وبلاگ گودریدز، یک مطلب کلی نوشته ام و تا اندازه ای به همه ی آثارشان اشاره کرده ام، پس نیازی به "ریویو"ی جداگانه نیست، اگر مایلید، اینجا را بخوانید؛ http://www.goodreads.com/author_blog_...

I needed a break from my usual PNR/ urban fantasy selections and Son of Avonar didn't disappoint. Something that eternally annoys me about UF is that the heroines are always special in someway. They can't just be normal people. Seri is a normalish person that happens upon extraordinary people. I enjoyed the characters and their flaws along with Berg's hopping between past and present writing style. At the time I was annoyed by it because I wanted to find out was was happening between Seri and Aeren. Great fantasy and a sweet romance.

Reader thoughts: This one might be my favorite Narnia book of all. Why? More Aslan. The scenes with him talking to Shasta or Aravis, and I can imagine that their reactions would be how I'd react to God talking with me. And I love long-lost family returning to save the kingdom. (This is what I write, after all.) It's a bit like a retelling of Joseph or Lion King, except Shasta had no idea who he was. Oh, and the horses ran the show. Some authors have talking/magical animal companions, but they never rise above just pets. Paolini's dragons in Eragon have some personality and are almost full characters, but Lewis's horses here and Timothy Zahn's Draycos are clearly their own people, with their own thoughts and motivations. There's one point where Shasta is swinging a sword, and I love that he doesn't immediately become an expert. The ending is well-planned. (view spoiler) Writer thoughts: One way Zahn brings Draycos to life is by having him learn to read (definitely a non-pet thing), and one way Lewis brings Bree and Hwin to life is by having them confess fears and pride (also definitely a non-pet thing). These authors know how to make their animals into real characters.

So what's a woman to do? Get to work, for starters. And as she restored her house, she was beginning to find herself...a home..."

I don't know how to put to words how addicted I am to this series. NS has done it again she threw a perfect pitch and it's a outta here!! lol I think the way she did Elena's recovering as an " " well can't tell you lol but she did a great job with the tale and all the excitement had my heart aching. We got to see a sweeter side of Raphael that made me love him more. No wonder Elena fell for him so hard, and we also got to see her nightmares, that had intrigued me so much in the previous book,. I cried for the child she had been and what happened to her family. No one should have had to go through something like that. Also it made me hate her father even more, even though we get to see a "human" side of him for a brief second. I can not wait to rad the third book which should take us back to NY and Elena's friends and family. Is NY ready for Elena? Can't wait to find out. :)
