I wish it had more for those of us who lose our moms later in life, but still before one might expect.

Hilariosity! Double Cool With Knobs! So much British slang that I've learned from these books. I love Georgia and all her crazy escapades...especially with Robbie aka the Sex God. Her stories will make you laugh out loud, even in the most awkward of places (try the waiting room in a doctor's office) Georgia's blunt and skewed look at life will make you smile and wish you lived a bit closer to the Channel. Every book is amazing, highly reccommended that you read them all. I love the British!!

Quick answers is right - I read this in about 30 minutes. Full of short answers to popular personal finance questions. I'd say skip this book and just read his "Total Money Makeover" - the same information, but more developed.

I was in Florence a few weeks ago and passed Dante's house... and Savonarola's cell... and the Medici palace... on a thunderstormy day in Tuscany, this book (this translation) makes all the sense in the world...

In a word: overrated. The prose is pretty bare when the shock value is discounted. My visceral reaction was that it is just an ugly book.

Very much appreciated all wisdom and good advice set forth in this Southern novel. I really enjoyed it!
These are all stories about girls from Mrs. Harris' School for Heiresses, a school set up to help the daughters of the noveau riche learn tonnish manners and also to teach them how to stay away from fortune hunters. I think the first story, by Sabrina Jeffries, was my favorite. A new early finds someone stealing his horses and then discovers it's a girl running away from home. When she says she's running from her guardian who is trying to marry her off to one of his nasty friends, he thinks she's making up stories. But when he finds out it's the truth, he vows to help her. Liz Carlyle's "After Midnight" has the daughter of a courtesan trying to find true love. She falls in love with a man who is infamous for having run off with his step-mother. When his scorned lover tricks him into stepping into the daughter's bed, the two shock everyone by first giving into lust and then falling into love. "Merchant's Gift" by Julia London was probably my least favorite. Merchant's daughter has been raised to marry a nobleman but falls in love with another merchant. What's a girl to do? "Mischief's Holiday" by Reese Bernard has a stodgy businessman falling in love with a girl who can't stay out of trouble.
