This was a great book about 4 Indian-American women and their Indian mothers... Every chapter was from one of the eight characters pov and their stories and ended with an Indian recipe. I enjoyed this book and learning some of the different Indian cultures and traditions.

I love Jonathan Tropper so much. He writes about smart, funny, messed up people, who just happen to be a lot like the people who populate my life (including me -- not excepting myself here.) Far-fetched things happen in his books, that really don't seem so far-fetched when similar things have happened in the lives of those around me. His books are funny, human, and real, and this one was no exception. I wish he could write at a Harlequin-author pace, so that I would have something new from him to read every month, but soon I will be through all his back catalog, and that will make me sad.

Funny book.. Need I qualify that with the rejoinder "tongue-in-cheek"? Thoughtful musing on Jesus's formative years learning from the Wise Men. Not really serious food for thought for those of us who eschewed the company of his earthly followers.
