I loved the first half of this book...the characters, the story, the suspense, and mystery that was set up in the story was perfect and I couldn't read the pages fast enough. The second half of the book however I found quite disappointing. Although I was glad to find closure to some parts of the storyline I found that others were completely left hanging. And the last chapter I just skimmed - even though it was related to the story, I thought it was over written and would have rather read more about the main characters.

Riveting. I could not put this book down, something very typical of this author. Very easy to read, but a very touchy subject; it is an intense, emotional novel about a school shooting from multiple perspectives.

Barbara Kingsolver and her family set out to live on a farm in Appalachia and grow as much of their food as possible or at least buy it locally. Loads of interesting information about farming and the commercial production of fruits, vegetables, and livestock. Makes me want to live on my own small farm! On a more immediate and practical note, it also encouraged me to actually look at where my food comes from and hopefully make better choices.
