This book is full of information about inequality and extreme wealth in the United States. Some chapters go into more detail than I needed (for example, detailing the origin of great fortunes and the names of the top wealth owners in Britain and the United States in the 18th-19th centuries), but I can't hold it against the author, the book is, after all 400+ pages long. Phillips discussion of wealth inequality, and the relationship between money and political power is timely and fascinating. His comparisons between the modern US economy and previous great economic powers (Spain, Netherlands, Britain), show parallels between our current economy and other historical periods (of decline).

Awesome, I really had to restrain myself from eating this book up in like two days. I swear, I forced myself to read another book and then come back to it. Finnick sounds so hot I was like "lawd he gonna have a horrible death!" and then stupid Johanna, I wanted her to die, but then I didn't want her to die, it was a love hate thing. Peeta's so sweet! As usual. ^^ And Katniss, love that girl! Anyway, this book was fantastic as we all expected it to be. I'm gonna read two more books before I go on to Mockingjay...man it's so hard to pace myself. <333

This was an interesting read. I took a class in YA lit this past semester and was forced to read sci fi for the first time. I loved it and this is a really enjoyable book for someone who isn't sure about the genre. I feel I need to read the next book in the series to understand more. I don't want to give away the end but it is the best part of the book. You feel as if you are there with all of the imagery. I do agree with the other reviews in that it is similar to The Giver by Lois Lowry. And if I had to choose between the two, I'd give my nod to Lowry's book. But definitly worth the read!

This is a very basic guide to social media. The problem is that it collapses (again) 'young people' into 'Web 2.0.' Actually, the sociology of the online environment is much more complex than is suggested here. For a basic guide - this is fine. Anything more complex, and it is necessary to look elsewhere.
