He also seems so sure about faith and redemption at one moment, and totally full of doubt the next. I really enjoy Sara Bell's stories and The Manny comes in second only to Heart Song. What do I love about this little story? One sexy hunk with tattoos a plenty and a soft heart. The visual of Tate teaching A.J. how to swaddle a baby was sweet like candy. Another sexy hunk who's all yuppied out and also has a soft heart. A.J. wears cartoon boxers because they were a gift from his sibling's kid. Could he have stuffed them away somewhere? Yup. Does he? Nope, because then he wouldn't be A.J. Animosity becomes friendship become lust becomes love. An adorable baby. This is another one of those stories that I re-read like it's my job. I could have read 200 more pages about these guys and their little bundle of joy.

This was not the book that I thought it was going to be. I read it because it got so much press and people were so up in arms about it. However, the book turned out to be well written and pretty funny (I am not sure it was suppose to be funny). I love that Amy is really eventually defeated by her daughter and that she comes to accept, to some extent, that not all children can be raised the same. Honestly, I didn't expect to like Amy when I read the book but I found myself feeling a little bad for her. She really wanted to do what was best for her kids and while her methods seem a bit extreme, she wasn't a bad mom. A good read.
