I have some mixed feelings over this book. Mostly I have to say that it was an enjoyable read, but as the last book in the series it just felt short. This whole series is about a prophecy that Storm Kings grandson will take over the human world. In the beginning of this book that heir is finally born. Strange enough this is also the last book in the series. The whole focus of this book is more on just another Otherworld problem than really on the prophecy, it feels like Richelle Mead has had enough of this series and decided to end it. The first part of this story mostly deals with Eugenie and her pregnancy and how she is going to keep her twins safe. I found the beginning a bit slow and boring, but later on the story get's better. It just felt like any other book in this series, but just hadn't that last book feel. The last part of the book just felt rushed and I was left surprised and even a bit disapointed, this is what this great series ends with? I was already prepared that this book was less good than the earlier books, so I had already lowered my expectations. But I have to admit I actually enjoyed the story, just not the end and how this whole series get's wrapped up in the last 80 pages!!! I think this book is good enough, but as the last book in this series I had expected more of it (at least before reading some of the reviews). In many aspects this book is just another book in this series. There are some magical problems, Eugenie kicks some ass and deals with her kingdoms. I was a bit disapointed by the lack of romance, but overal the story was okay. Altough I found it a bit strange that suddenly there was this far away land we never heard of that plays such a important role. And one of their travels got a bit too much attention. But my biggest complaint is that this book is not an adequate ending to this series. I enjoyed it but kept wondering how she was going tot end this series because there was othing happening with the prophecy. Only the last 80 pages are actually about the prophecy. This whole series is about this prophecy and it ends like this. It is just a strange wrap up of the series. And I think Eugenie makes one stupid and one good descision at the end of this book. To conclude: a nice and enjoyable book, but not suited as last book in this series. If you liked the previous books you will enjoy this one, but don't expect a nice wrap up (like for example the succubus series had). The whole series is working towards the fullfilling of the prophecy, but this book hardly pays any attention to the prophecy. So just lower you expectations a bit and just enjoy this book for what it is.

Such a confusing book. Need to read back through this one, eventually. Get the feeling there is a LOT I missed here.

Great stories of Christmas and werewolves. My favorite was "SA" by J.A. Kronrath. A normal healthy guy finds molars in his poop and joins Shapeshifters Anonymous.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Set in a podunk town in the bayou of Louisiana, the cadence of speech and sayings were really fun. The author went to the trouble of making the people of this small town likable, and delved into what a tight community small towns can be. You're not just seeing a bunch of rednecks living in the swamp. You are seeing kind and generous people. Though they may not have a lot of money, they will still cook for you, and they have their pride as well. It helps when an author makes the surrounding characters as much fun as the main characters. The chemistry between the Hero and Heroine was great, as were their separate personalities. Garwood is great at spinning tales from different perspectives so they interweave seamlessly. The story was wonderfully told, keeping you enthralled until the very end. I only wish there was a little more detail about how the last 2 bad guys got their comeuppance. :)

Lisbeth Salander is an antisocial heroine with a complicated personal history. She was shot in the brain and is recovering in this book. Investigative journalist Mikael Blomkvist, protagonist, has rescued her and is determined to prove her innocence. I'm not sure what the fuss is about this series.

It took me a while to get used to the style of this book: it is built to be like a manuscript that is put together from the news articles and journal entries from a New York Times journalist that travels to the country of Ecotopia (northern Cali, Oregon and Washington) twenty years after it seceeded from the U.S. I enjoyed the unique techniques this author used to provoke his readers into thinking about the planet and the positive things that can be done to coinside with it.
